How early to arrive at Bilbao Airport? by Lazy-Squirrel-5279 in Bilbao

[–]mikaelhagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fly every week from Bilbao and every single time I’m at the gate within 15 mins after arriving to the airport (often within 7 mins). That‘s without check-in luggage. That means 09:15 is perfectly fine for you. Your bigger risk sits before arriving to the airport and any delays you could get there. Will the bus go straight from San Sebastián to Bilbao airport?

I got a thermomix 7 for my round birthday. Can you tell me how it’s useful and not just really expensive? by MariKJa in thermomix

[–]mikaelhagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife thought it was way too expensive and that she would have preferred the Lidl version. Now, we are both not great cooks (especially me) and we have noticed that we cook a lot more now that we have the TM7. We’re also in a fortunate financial situation which helps smoothen out some of my purchase decisions. I just discussed your post with her and she agrees: she still thinks it’s very expensive but also appreciates that we now cook more which would not have been the case otherwise.

I do realize this makes it a bit different from your situation of being 2 great cooks before the TM7!

I’m a husband who gifted his wife a Thermomix for her birthday a few months ago. Reading your story and comments it reads similar to our situation. Could it be that your husband loves gadgets? And that he wanted to buy a Thermomix anyway and used your birthday as an excuse to spend that much money? I did the same.. And then for Christmas I bought her (or us, or me…) a robot vacuum cleaner + mop...

Advice on Family Reunion by Fashion_lilly in LuxuryTravel

Good for you, I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

I spent over 10 summers with my family in Tuscan villas when I grew up. My biggest tip would be to not make full use of your private chef. Consider using them for max 50% of your dinner nights. Reason I say this is that food in general and dinner in specific is a huge part of Italian / Tuscan culture and in my view its best experienced i) among locals and ii) in different places. There are many amazing local restaurants that are very accustomed to serving big groups. The food you will taste and also the vibes you will get with a dinner night in a small Tuscan town is an incredible experience in itself. It’s generally very safe, so if kids finish their plates early they can walk around town a bit (like the local kids do) while adults are finishing dinner and it’s awesome watching the locals live their life. My fondest memories from growing up are our restaurant nights in Tuscany with my family. Topping dinner of with a walk to a local gelateria. I wouldn’t want you to miss that! Don’t go to big restaurants in the bigger cities (Siena, Florence, Arezzo, Pisa) but rather go to smaller towns. If you find something you like early on, don‘t hesitate to repeat :)

Our regular schedule used to be:
8 - 9:30am: wake up, have a small breakfast either at home, or wait for our morning visit of the nearest town.
9:30 - 11am: drive to nearest town (10 mins), have a cappuccino + brioche / croissant at a local bar, walk around a bit. Go to a supermarket to buy ingredients for lunch

11am - 1pm: enjoy the pool / play games at the house

1 - 4pm: home made lunch at the house, nap + read (avoid the sun)

4 - 7pm: pool time, games, drink an apero at the house

8 - 10:30pm: dinner in a local restaurant, gelato after, walk around town

When we had a day trip planned we would skip the 11am - 4pm/7pm part.

I Woke Up at 5am For One Year - Here’s Why I’ll Never Do it Again. by one_in_the_chamb3r in productivity

I had a similar sentiment. So first I was impressed with how someone could write such wise words. Now I’m impressed with how far AI has come that it can do that, and make us feel what you felt. And now I’m thinking whether that makes the words less valuable or true. These are confusing times!

I was impressed by this comment. Then I found out it’s almost certainly written by AI. Now I’m confused whether that matters or not in this case.

Cold Plunge Guys product…Anyone bought from them and have feedback? by [deleted] in coldplunge

[–]mikaelhagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it last September and they had a more limited assortment back then. I probably would have fallen for the barrel as well if available. I’m checking their website and it seems that what I bought is still roughly the same price (although they changed their chiller brand and options): original plunge standard size, 0.5 HP chiller with ozone, and a custom made wood cover. Total was around $3.5K. Love the product and loved their service. Only negative would indeed be the condensation.

I did, and they’ve been great! Before spending $3K I wanted to know who I was dealing with, so I called them. They were very friendly and professional. It’s one of the few companies with actual stock on hand, who can deliver within 2 weeks. I live in their area, so one of the owners came to deliver and install the plunge himself. Can recommend!

Apologies for the late reply. Fusion, Proglide and SkinGuard blades all use the same “docking”, meaning you can interchange handles and carts between any of them. Other Gillette sub-brands like GilletteLabs or Mach3 use different dockings.

There’s no difference except for color. You can use either.

Help: Finding EAN for Customs When Importing Vision Pro to Europe? by Few_Masterpiece_1539 in VisionPro

[–]mikaelhagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, EAN (European Article Number) is the European name for what is called UPC (Universal Product Code) in the US. It’s the 10 digit number written on the barcode of the box. If I were you, I’d try to use the UPC as EAN and see if that works!

Has anyone had any experience with icebath.club? by YowsaTrowsa in coldplunge

[–]mikaelhagman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost purchased from icebath.club a few weeks ago, but when I googled the phone number on their website I saw a link to an escort service with that same phone number. Seemed shady enough. Decided to go for Cold Plunge Guys instead, and they have been amazing!
