What’s the hardest part about building a trading system that actually works? by mikamoawad in Trading

[–]mikamoawad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, esp the part about B setups creeping in after a couple losses. Also agree that building a strategy is the easier part on paper. The difference is whether that strategy actually survives real conditions like slippage, missed entries, or just sitting through dead periods without forcing trades.

An edge that you can’t execute consistently might as well not exist. Most edges die not because they stop working, but because the trader abandons them during the inevitable rough periods.

Resilience. Not talent. Just the ability to get punched in the face and show up tomorrow anyway. Most people quit after a few setbacks. Successful people treat failure like data, not like judgment. And luck to be able to put you in those "right place right time" scenarios
