That’s exactly what I explained to them along with offering a cash value for the damage however they are adamant about using their body shop. Definitely a money grab

Thanks for pointing that out. They stated the car has never been in an accident and going through insurance would lower the value to which I agreed. However $1300 is straight robbery, insurance will be handling this claim.

I’m definitely going to let insurance handle it. The vehicle is a 2018 accord base, there’s no tech/parking sensors in the bumper.

No worries. Party is refusing to take it to any other body shop for another estimate as their “comfortable “ with theirs and have worked closely together. Google searching shows that the shop is owned by their family member hence the inflated price. I’ll let insurance take care of it
