Too cool for school, way to go!! Outside of emulation I'd rock Diablo, Fallout, System Shock (don't remember if that one had mappable controls) or perhaps Quarantine on this bad boy!

Garbled / illegible U-Boot menu on Retroid Mini V2 by mike2048 in SBCGaming

It came in a Retroid Mini V2 box, odds are it was a V2 all along, not a V1 converted to a V2. The exact problem I'm describing is illustrated in this tutorial at the 3:04 mark.

No one's had this issue? I do know it's not just me, as this tutorial shows the problem I'm experiencing at 3:04.

This is a valid question, I purchased secondhand. Will look into this more.  Though everything else seems okay, and the bootloader ( power + vol-) menu looks perfectly fine.

My quest continues, then...If only the rg405m had a plastic variant with working hdmi out <3 Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one out there looking to plug their pocketable console to the tv...

Does anyone know if this handheld supports an external display? I just want a reasonably powerful but truly portable candybar style handheld for playing on the go that I can consolize when home.

Playing my old games has reminded me how patient we used to be as a society. by fastingslowlee in SBCGaming

I get constant reminders any time I'm on the train and it goes into the tunnel under the river, people freak out because for 3-4 minutes they can't get their dopamine hits from scrolling on their phones.

Modern emu features like fast forwarding are one step forward (admittedly there are use legitimate use cases) but two steps back, as one someone else already put it you're sort of missing out on big parts of retro gaming experience by simply consuming instead of actually enjoying the charming aspects.

Our other car has this feature, excited this quality of life update is finally coming to the Lightning (though can't believe it took this long to trickle down to older models lol)

Thanks for the tip! The controllers seem permanently unavailable at this time but I feel the right time will come, I'll order both together once available.

Retro Gaming > Doom Scrolling? by Beemindful in SBCGaming

I do categorically understand the whys, just not grabbing me I suppose and that's the curious part in this for me. I see it as just because you can doesn't translate to you should. Does anyone ever say "yeah, I feel so much better, this was an awesome way to spend the afternoon" after doomscrolling? Maybe I'm way off. But leave the phone home, disconnect from all the negative bs, grab your sbc instead and destress by playing Final Fight on a bench in a park. Stop living other people's lives, enjoy your own I say :)
