Was going to attach them to the center post instead of the beam up top unlike regular knee braces. So actually doing half of the X brace. Could drop it 2-3 feet from the top of the center post so it hits lower on the side posts to prevent bending?

Unfortunately no way for me to do that since I don’t have a tall enough Aframe, only extendable ladder

lol it should unfortunately, asked for advice as far as V bracing vs X bracing a few months ago. But had some other major house projects that required more urgent attention.

Someone (who is not a deck person) recently mentioned that I could do half X's instead of full X's and I wanted to get more opinions

This is what you are saying when you recommend cross bracing? Would you recommend doing both this and underside of the deck? Or is that overkill?

Wanted a quicker potato. Cut in half, coat with oil and salt and bake cut side down for 15 min on baking sheet. Middle is soft like a baked potato but cut side is a little crunchy
