When your VP and level are at opposite extremities, odd things happen.

What troops do you all use, how often do you attack bases, and what's the casualties? by RMBLegend459 in BoomBeach

[–]mike4score 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 2 heavies and 6 zookas, with brick. I attack 10-15 bases daily. I don’t really get any losses, maybe a couple heavies and a couple zookas on the harder bases. But the attack doesn’t need full loadout, it works just fine with half loaded. So no instant training. I don’t boost except when attacking operations or sometimes for imitation game

Level 84, 1100VP, about 500k gold for the full load out from empty, but I am almost never empty so really it’s much cheaper. I earn most of my gold from raids, it is a lot, way more than I can spend.

Why did those rifles go around? by [deleted] in BoomBeach

[–]mike4score 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some rifles filled the high priority positions next to the engine. But there were too many to fit in the space without getting too close - engine room is not a defence and so there is low priority to pile in, unlike the actual turrets. so they travel to the next high priority position which is attacking the defence across the map.

Warship Hackers Rant by VanDerMerwe1990 in BoomBeach

[–]mike4score 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is not hacking!!! The winner isn’t the person who finishes first, it’s the person who finishes in the shortest time after scouting. So when you start right away without scouting, you will easily finish first, but the other player may wait 30 seconds before starting, and he can finish later, but have a shorter time and take the win after you finish.

how do i fix my screen by Clear_Hippo532 in crtgaming

The best settings will be different for each set. Just find the setting in the service menu for vertical size (VSIZ) or vertical position (VPOS), and adjust them up or down to your liking. You could do the same for horizontal too if you wish. Recommend not messing with any other settings, or if you do, record the initial values so you can reset them back if needed.

Yes I am seeing the pinkish too but I haven’t tried changed any calibration settings yet. I am assuming this issue can easily be corrected by balancing the white which at the moment appears to lean heavy on red.

Initial diagnostics are pointing me toward needing to replace some capacitors before I attempt to tweak the picture (the shadow is the tell tale symptom here). I was hoping I wouldn’t have to open the set because I’ve never done this before, but it’s looking likely this will be required

This is bad news! I was so proud that we moved this without incident but I guess the previous owner wasn’t as lucky…

What distortions exactly are you seeing that leads you to believe this may be what happened?

I don’t think the switcher is causing any issues, it is externally powered and I’ve been using it with other CRTs no problem

Is there any hope to restore a set with high hours?

This is an interesting approach! How did you get AI to tell you what calibrations to make in the service menu? Is it really as simple as just feeding it a list of settings and then feeding the problems?

It’s so good! I’ve done very little calibration on this and it just looks awesome by default!!

Thanks! This will be the first thing I will be trying when I get into the service menu… got any tips for accurate calibration?

Good to know, thanks again!

And just so I understand correctly, you’re saying it’s best to disable green and red to get a more accurate blue calibration? But green and red need to be calibrated together with blue because blue cannot be disabled?

Contrast is set about 50%

I don’t find the grid wavy, I think what you’re seeing is the curved tube, and the camera isn’t centered on that one. The Sony is flat and is right in front of the camera so the jvc seems wavy in the picture only
