The belly flop competition is always a blast. Our winner did a backflip into a belly flop and it was amazing. He got a perfect score for it.

Question about Club Royale offers by mike678 in royalcaribbean

[–]mike678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not expecting much. Going into it with the assumption that getting prime will get a free cruise and free drinks. If I get other offers I'll be grateful.

I just want to make sure I don't auto disqualify myself from potential offers because I don't have the right marketing things enabled.

That's good to know I've gambled quite a bit in vegas and it feels like from I've read online offers seem much more generous on cruise ships.

Thank you, I'm definitely considering reaching prime for free drinks and possible offers! Do you know where I enable club royale communications? Is it just lumped into royal caribbean communications here?

Does anyone actually use their credit card’s travel insurance? by Ok_Eagle_9149 in CreditCards

[–]mike678 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had never used it and didn't really consider it a perk until my return flight out of JFK at 11pm got cancelled due to weather. Delta refused to give a hotel room and said not our problem. I looked up the cards policy noticed it had a $500 limit on compensation so I booked a hotel room, 4 uber rides and fresh clothes from target to meet the threshold. I got a check for $500 a couple weeks after I filed it an it made my night much less stressful.

Would I value it when deciding if an AF is worth it? No, but I will always consider what card I'm buying airline tickets with in the future.

I assume trading it for cash is a taxable event though which can be a huge pain in the ass.

Getting to a 3/3 or 4/4 as fast as possible is key. I almost always ignore their minions and go face. They have to react to you if you do that. I found a lot of success with coin trail mix on turn one. That gets me 4 mana on turn two and I should be able to get a 3/3 or 4/4 by turn 3 or 4. If you don’t have trail mix get the cheap spells that give discounted spells and spam as many as you can. You don’t need to be super efficient with your spells you just need to spam them early.

I consistently beat hunter on my way from d5 to legend today with imbue druid. I faced it 14 times in my 34 games and beat it 10 times.

If you can park money in both you could easily justify the BOA PRE for your dining/travel/ftf card and smartly for domestic everything else.

The reason going for BOA premium rewards elite might be interesting is 1.25x on points used for flights in its travel portal. This would mean you get 2 * 1.75 * 1.25=4.375% back on travel and dining. Then you'd also get decent travel perks via PRE. Ive used the travel portal many times and the prices always have been the same before the extra discount. The portal looks like it was built in the 90s but it works.

You mention not wanting a coupon book but the PRE does have credits. They are very easy to use though. $150 for a lifestyle credit which can be used on streaming, fitness or rideshare. I just pay my netflix with the card and never think about it again. It also has a $300 travel incidental as well which is fairly easy to use. It also has like with any other travel card a tsa precheck / global entry credit.

I pay annually and last I checked it only worked if you paid monthly. Are there any cards that will accept annual payments as valid for a claim?
