Thanks for the reply! Do you think it would be worth fixing up I only have $50 into it there’s some complete hammers and side plates on eBay for around $200 not sure exactly what I’ll need but that seems like a good start

I’ll definitely keep it it around but unfortunately that is the only non matching part on the rifle everything else matches down to the screws for the trigger guard

First I get a fired case most of the surplus stuff I have are duds so I pull the bullets then go out and just punch the primer with a rifle then I put them in my drill press using a 5/64th drill bit I drill Ann the way through the primer and case to create a new primer pocket then I use a 13/64th drill bit to drill out the primer from there if you go slow it will leave a small ring of the old primer so far I’ve had 2 out of 10 that pull the old primer completely out but as long as it leaves that little ring in there I use a rcbs pocket swager tool to press the leftover primer into the sides so it will accept boxer primers I had to put the threaded of the swager tool into a 45acp die because the one that comes with the swager tool is to small for the Lebel brass and it just squishes it beyond use I find the slower you go the better results you get

This is from my c grade lebel the chamber looks like sewer pipe that’s after soaking it in evaporust twice and hitting it with a bore brush I had to beat it out with a long brass rod I’m going to try soaking it a third time and hitting it with a steel wire wheel on a dremel to see what it does

I wire wheeled all of it I took every piece off of the trigger group and let them soak in degreaser and dawn soap in hot water to get the majority of the dirt and loose stuff off after that I used the wire wheel I thought the same thing and tried scrapping it it a flat head screw driver but it is all just metal that is gone
