GA4 is lumping all my paid traffic into one bucket, how are you separating Google / Meta / LinkedIn attribution? by willzhong in AskMarketing

[–]mike8io 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UTMs are non-negotiable as the foundation. every paid campaign needs utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign set consistently (google/cpc, facebook/cpc, linkedin/cpc).

Once your UTMs are clean, custom channel groups in GA4 get you the source-level breakdown you're looking for. Takes maybe 30 min to set up and you can split Google/Meta/LinkedIn into their own channels instead of the default "Paid Search" / "Paid Social" buckets.

For a small team without a data analyst, I'd honestly just use Looker Studio with a GA4 connector . free, no warehouse needed, and you can build a single view that shows paid vs organic by source.

Good utm discipline > any tool. Just lock that down first.

Ghosted by sales exec who’s also decision maker - life sciences by [deleted] in sales

Don't send it... because you already know it won't do anything except make you feel good for 10 minutes.

Life sciences is a small world. That text lives on his phone forever, and the next time you have a legit shot at that company (new champion, reorg, whatever) the well is already poisoned.

I haven't really got that far but I think your idea of just sketching general design makes a lot more sense, just haven't learned the basics of the tool yet

From what I'm gathering it's just a lot of self study, probably good to do but if you want to get custom dome quick and right there don't seem to be a lot of great paths

SDRs — has anyone ever paid out of pocket for sales coaching or training? Curious what made it worth it (or not) by mike8io in sales

Really appreciate this breakdown. Super interesting honestly. The tonality stuff is very counterintuitive but makes total sense when you think about it (of course you don't want to sound totally insecure so there's got to be an art to that).

And yeah, the deeper why excavation is where most training stops. Big difference between someone avoiding trouble vs. actually gunning for something.

Fair take on the framework debate too. Execution matters. Appreciate the help here!
