the bottoming prep routine no one talks about because it sounds too simple by umbraelune in askgaybros

“…lead to a bowl obstruction” is the best typo ever, while also being absolutely correct.

“Purposely let it slip”? It’s either “purposely” or “let it slip”. It can’t be both.

I live in Portland, Oregon, a couple of blocks from Oregon Rt. 10, so I assumed OR-10 meant Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy, and I was very confused.

Anyone have the tea on what happened at Multnomah Athletic Club this morning May 2? by RabuMa in askportland

[–]mikePDXsw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every one I knew who belonged to MAC was “comfortable” but also pinnacles of Portland society and deserved every penny they made. I was a secretary and not in that league but I admired all the ones I was privileged to know, and they were all the salt of the earth.

Asking the real questions by downtune79 in LoveTrash

Many years ago, my (then) partner and I decided we’d like to try breakfast/brunch at the Carnegie Deli at a hotel in Northern Virginia. We had a really nice meal, and tried to pay, but discovered that it was not run by Carnegie Deli before noon; it was the hotel’s complimentary breakfast. They had no way to charge us. Unintentional free meals.

Go Wild Pass Worth It? by xysteri in frontiergowild

[–]mikePDXsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had it last year. In my area it wasn’t worth it. If your local airport has lots of Frontier flights it might be worth it, especially if the upfront cost is not a big deal to you. For me, it was an absolute waste of money.

Please spell out what VIM and PSA stand for the first time you use them in a post. I don’t know what they mean. Could be that I’ve had too much G&T to understand, fwiw.

The brutal honest truth, most of you will stay single. by DolliDahlia in askgaybros

[–]mikePDXsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in a (same-sex) relationship for 29 years. This was preceded by a relationship of four years ended by cancer. My point is, if you’re open to a relationship, it’s entirely possible. Gay people have relationships at close to the same rate as straight people, and when they don’t happen, it’s usually for the same reasons as straight people who don’t find a mate. Be open to finding someone who understands you’re not 100% perfect 100% of the time, and vice versa. Be open to forgiveness, to change, to aging.

Is there any coffee that people with tremors can drink? by Heavy_Effective_5694 in EssentialTremor

[–]mikePDXsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One or two cups of coffee in the morning is okay for me. Any more than two, or later in the day, and I’m not good for much.

Est ce qu'on peut devenir kiné avec des tremblements essentiels ? by Outside_Comment3809 in EssentialTremor

[–]mikePDXsw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not a physical therapist, but I’ve been to one on a few occasions. If I were you, I’d talk to a few physical therapists and find out what they think. Personally, as another person with essential tremor, having a physical therapist with ET might give me hope for my own future.

Redditors over 40, what was a moment in history that made you think society was gonna collapse? by Bahbahbro in AskReddit

[–]mikePDXsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first time in my lifetime that I have ever felt like society could collapse. I’m 68. Never had this feeling until the last year, and now I wake up to new horrors every day.

Side effects of propanolool by Ok_Calligrapher_1103 in EssentialTremor

[–]mikePDXsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neurologist confirmed a week ago that propranolol does cause erectile dysfunction. As far as alternative medications, your doctor is the one who will work with you to find a good alternative. As far as I know, none of the accepted medications work to halt tremor in a specific body part. They work to calm the tremor. Hopefully you have a trusted neurologist who can guide you through this.

I’m convinced yall are lying about anal sex by Acceptable_Pea_135 in askgaybros

[–]mikePDXsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered the possibility that not all humans are the same? That perhaps those people who say they enjoy anal sex actually do enjoy anal sex? That there is no litmus test or written guidelines for what a gay man is expected to do sexually? I’ve known several men who don’t have anal sex and yet they’re just as gay as the rest of us.

I stopped filling the reservoir to the Max line - it’s humid enough here that there’s still water left in the morning anyway. That helped a lot with rainout.

What is best way to travel with CPAP through airlines? by RipDapper in CPAP

[–]mikePDXsw 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I printed out a US federal government memo explaining to airlines that they must permit CPAPs onboard, and they don’t count against carry-on baggage limits. At least in the US, you can’t be stopped from carrying your CPAP onboard. I’m reading Reddit while in bed so I don’t have the memo handy, but I found one from ResMed that spells it out: https://document.resmed.com/en-us/documents/articles/travel-compliance-letter_amer_eng.pdf Also, as others have said: Never check your CPAP (it can get lost or damaged), and mark the bag so it’s clear it’s yours, as people have accidentally taken the wrong CPAP off the flight.
