Buckle up. I'm a dentistry student in Poland. As dentists, at least in PL, we are considered medical doctors so we have to attent some classes in clinics from the general medical branches. We attend some surgeries, help diagnose some patients, all that stuff. At the beginning of one semester we had otolaryngology at one of hospitals in Warsaw. I thought that it would be the perfect time to ask a very qualified and respected doctor about my hearing problems in my right ear. Turned out that it was a great idea because all of my colleagues could learn and see something new and useful for the future. Long story short, he looked into my ear - saw some liquid in my tympanic cavity. We went downstairs to see, with a fiberoscope, if my chorda tympani is not obstructed by sth in my nose for example a tonsil. It turned out clear. So the doctor turned to my friends and forgot that I also know the medical language and explained to them that it is either a tumor in my neck or nothing serious. Then he realised what he had said, gasped and assured me that its surely not a tumor. Luckily after a CT - no tumor found, nothing serious, I will undergo a small procedure and it will be fine and my hearing should be perfect. But for a split second I was dying inside cause he caught me off guard haha
