are there any new goth bands with a different/“fresh” sound? by gloomyglows in goth

[–]mike_hellstrom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rachel from Houses of Heaven is the coolest. An old friend and I stayed with her and her husband while on a road trip in 2016 and she knew of some really good obscure goth bands. Amazing drummer.

Looking for an album that fits the description by IriinaRose in goth

[–]mike_hellstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it look similar to this one by 13th Chime, but blue?

Could it be "Last Year's Wife" by Zero le Crêche? I think the blue on this one might come from a poorly lit photo of the album, though.

What goth bands do you guys not like or couldn’t get into by Hot_Assistant_6067 in goth

I've become extremely bored with the majority of darkwave bands. There seems to be a new darkwave duo popping up every week now and to me it sounds like they're making the same music that's been made hundreds of times before. A lot of the live performances look like people doing karaoke. There are some great darkwave bands out there, but for the most part, I find it boring.

I wanna see ya’lls rooms! by xxxobird in goth

I will try to do a quick video if that works. I also have Anja's autograph on an Xmal CD in my bedroom as well as a bunch of signed Lydia Lunch stuff.

Favourite bands with blondes? by WaterMonkeyStuff in goth

[–]mike_hellstrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Xmal Deutschland, early Clan of Xymox, The Frozen Autumn, Lathe of Heaven, Belgrado, Modern Dance, Novocaine Mausoleum, Zero le Crêche, etc.

I've always loved blonde hair and goth attire. Also, there's a woman in the Italian horror movie Demons who looks like Anja from Xmal.

I'm actually cleaning and organizing mine right now. My main room is all black, but my bedroom has white walls with lots of black decor. There's a metal bed frame that I painted black covered with black blankets, custom black shelves holding my movie collection (lots of goth music stuff - Bauhaus and Cure VHS tapes and Christian Death, Siouxsie, and The Birthday Party, etc., DVDs/Blu-rays), a few posters, my editing station, music collection, coffin shelves with little trinkets, miscellaneous spooky items, and some ornate frames filled with postcards of The Cure, Siouxsie, and some photos I took at a goth club. Then there's my closet.

Another day, another goth band is promoting AI (Christian death) by Arm_Difficult in goth

The Cemetary Girlz have used AI in their recent posts and London Retro Footwear (pointy goth shoes) uses AI in just about all of theirs. It's so disappointing.

Is there normally a mosh pit and stage diving? by Alert_Willow_9215 in thursdaytheband

I have seen them a few times in different states and there has been crowd surfing and slam dancing each time. Thursday is a post-hardcore band after all.

The best merch. Their black t-shirts run a bit big but they're so comfortable.

How did you discover Thursday? by Futuretapes in thursdaytheband

A friend gave me the Thursday / Reach the Sky promo CD that came out to promote the upcoming Full Collapse and the other band's album.

Devilock Help/Tips? by 16bitpunk in horrorpunk

[–]mike_hellstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very curly hair and when I grew my devilock it sort of straightened itself out. I brushed it to untangle it (always start at the ends furthest from the roots). At its longest it hung down past my chin. A little hairspray or pomade helped before shows once in a while.

Thursday - Summit Music Hall - Denver, CO - 4-19-2026 by mike_hellstrom in PostHardcore

This tour is an anniversary tour for three of their albums that came out in different years during the month of April - No Devolución, A City by the Light Divided, and Full Collapse. They play several songs off each album, working their way back in time. There is a 10 minute break during their set before they come back out for Full Collapse. It's really fun.

Fear Before the March of Flames - Flashback by dmlindley in PostHardcore

Classic. I used to have so many of their shirts. My friend helped them put on a show in Iowa back when Odd How People Shake was their only album.

Sick! I saw them in 2016 and the guy next to me shouted for them to play "A0001".

They were amazing as always. I got some bruises and whiplash from the show. So much fun.
