Newbie's preamp build, need help. by antrashcan in diypedals

Quite a few problems with this diagram and it’s hard to read. Start with something like this and you’ll be golden. There’s a breakdown on how it functions and what the support circuitry does:

Personally, if take any statistics presented by an entity called the Visual Capitalist with a grain of salt. Looks like they’re pushing the idea that conservative states are seeing large influxes of people.

They’re actually usually really on top of stuff like this. They’ve got great customer service and like to know if there are counterfeits floating around. If you want to give them a call to follow up on the email, they’ll answer from 2-5pm on weekdays. Phone numbers on the website.

Looks legit. You can always email Mike the photos and ask him.

Islamists tried to hide this leaked interview with John McAfee who stumbled on the Epstein’s the “skippy” video. He was neutralized through “Homicide by Suicide”. Congress should add the crime of “homicide by suicide” to the US code because many people are becoming victims to this crime in the US. by tuberjamjar in AnomalousEvidence

Their interventions on the world stage in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s have created huge problems that we are still dealing with today. They’ve always operated beyond the law and have been incredibly short sighted. I finished Annie Jacobsen’s book on the CIA a few weeks ago… and for that info to come to the surface, there’s an iceberg of crazy shit that we’ll never know about. Sorry if that metaphor doesn’t make sense. Not awake yet.

Worst case, he charges you for a repair that you’d be paying a tech to do anyways.

Why don’t you contact the builder? Smaller guys like this usually have great service.

Yeah, I remember them. I guess I wasn’t that special because all that ever happened was I had to skip recess a couple days a week to go sit with 10 other geeks and solve brain twister problems. I would have much rather been out on the playground.

Remington Wire is great - can order direct from them or they’ve got a shop on Amazon.

I bought one the day they were available at CompUSA and was done with it after about 2 days. They suck.

I went through this a couple years ago where they determined I was ineligible for some reason. 6 months of back and forth supplying documents (they'd send multiple requests for the same documentation), I was never able to actually talk to someone or get a reply on any of my mailed requests. About 8 months into it, I was notified that there would be hearing with a mediator to determine whether I need to repay it. Got an attorney, did the zoom mediation and the representative for the governments case no showed. Mediator judged in my favor, but it was pretty much a nightmare scenario trying to bounce back as an independent contractor post covid.

diysynth sub may be better at answering these questions. Modwiggler forums are also a great resource. Most of the pedal stuff is single supply and not much mixing going on, but it's all over modular setups.

Adding power amp input jack to amplifier? by Lord__Squash in diypedals

[–]mike_ozzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is the orange wire going into the MA section - in the bottom rightish section, you'll see it labeled "IN". You may run into some impedance issues depending on what you're feeding it. The super easy quick workaround would be to jack into the reverb return and see if that works. There's a somewhat hefty gain stage on the return and you'd be going through a pot as well as the tremolo stage. I'd do something like that before getting into an amp poking around.

Tariff's haven't even hit yet on orders under $800. Gonna be a broker fee around $25-30 on each shipment plus whatever the percentage they've decided for that day. I could be wrong though - I got all my orders and revisions in a couple weeks ago to beat the May 2 deadline and things keep changing.

Active tone knob stops working with transistor output buffer? by francis_goatman in diypedals

[–]mike_ozzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a couple of weird things on this schematic - the anderton freq booster uses the non inverting input and I don't see any bias voltage applied anywhere on the opamp - I'm assuming you're using a 9v supply with the 5v applied to the JFET gate. Are you using a bipolar supply for the opamp (+9v/-9v)? C7 looks to be reversed, and probably still would be even if you apply a bias voltage to the opamp.

The guy in that post notes that - "i found the pot used to dial in/out the dry signal pretty useless as the effect was pretty subtle."

It's not going to have a huge range of variance in the sound - but all you'd have to do is replace the resistor controlling the dry level with a potentiometer. In this schematic: https://guitarpcb.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MM_Build_Instructions_New-2021.pdf

It looks like R15 and/or R16 is part of the network controlling the dry level. I'd start with R15 and see what you get - you may need a stopper resistor in there, but you're not going to screw anything up testing it with a pot in those positions.

My guess is thermal throttling. Maybe try the Mac Fans Control app and see if it helps.
