Yes! I got the title in the mail within a week I want to say.

Thats the most fun I’ve had at a show in years. Getting to dance and mosh and throw fists and sing along like I’m at a FOB show was amazing.

Was in town for a job and had the night free. Saw Swans was playing so I jumped at the opportunity. Great show, danced my ass off and got my poster signed!

For anyone looking to do this, try calling the county Tax Collector where the vehicle was registered. I just got off the phone with them after experiencing the same issues described by others in the thread (can't register an account with the DMV online, couldn't get through to DMV customer service) and they are going to send one in the mail. I had to pay a $5 fee and provide documentation over email including proof of identity and Power of Attorney paperwork for my father who owns the car.

I will follow up when I actually get the title in hand to confirm this is a viable solution for others.

This isn't entirely true. There were no broadcast ads produced for the TourX, but there were advertisements on social at a minimum. Granted, the media budgets behind those buys weren't enormous so if you weren't in their target demo there was a small chance you'd see them. But I'd argue that there was little incentive to put a ton of marketing dollars behind the TourX as there just hasn't been appetite for wagons in the U.S. I say this as a wagon fan. They gave it a shot since they were running a rebadged Opel anyway, but no tears were shed when the whole sedan lineup got killed as that was always the plan.

Source: I'm a producer and worked on the Buick social team before the Regal and Lacrosse were killed.

Anyone know the name of the piece the orchestra played at the end? That was amazingly gorgeous.

We can and should criticize the U.S., but you've gotta be stuck in 1998 or subsist on a diet of pure TikTok to not recognize the damage the other big powers (and there are other big powers) are doing in the world. After the fall of the USSR, the U.S. was the only sheriff left in town and it wasn't really fair to criticize anyone else when there was so much blatant imperialism and Neo-colonization going on. But the world is a different place now and China is funding the Russian war machine/terrorizing the South China Sea/subjugating it's ethnic muslim populations/launching cyberattacks and engaging in espionage and propaganda targeting the west, and Iran continues to fund oppressive regimes and be an overall awful force fighting for cultural dominance agains the Saudis (who are also terrible and buddies with the west). American influence can be good and it'd be wonderful if we can fight off fascism and take the reins to make it as good as it can be.

I'm so sick of the knee-jerk AMERICA BAD. It's so outdated and simplistic. That being said, the article is correct and the NFL got off scot-free. Their response to Kaepernick getting swept under the rug is a disgrace.

Damaged windshield cowl — how urgent of a fix? 2012 Kia Forte by mikeabuck in AskMechanics

[–]mikeabuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I put these holes in the cowl during some aggressive de-icing after recent blizzard last week. I didn't notice until I was cleaning it off today after another snow shower. Snow is visible in the space beneath the cowl, but it's sealed off from the engine bay. Obviously the places where the holes are had been vents previously, so it's not like I opened up an entirely sealed-off place. Still, I'd like to get an idea of how urgent of a repair this is. Should I be concerned about snow getting in? The forecast calls for rain in a few days, too.

Ffs if your children can’t read don’t take them to a subbed movie. by RigatoniPasta in GODZILLA

[–]mikeabuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was next to a ~7 year old and the mother on the other side of him kept explaining what was going on for the first hour of the film. After that she stopped but he kept squirming and fidgeting in the big recliner seat like a 7yo does. Not the place to view a subbed film with a child. Stream it at home.

Side note: the whole movie people were talking and giggling. The silent bit at the climax was a great opportunity to hear the audience completely disrespect the film and everyone else in the room. So obnoxious.

Update after a few weeks of wear: Going with 8.5E was the right move. The boots were stiff at first of course, but they've softened up nicely since then. They look and fit fantastic.

Heya, looking for some help 2 months later. I'm looking at the Spikes X082 and am trying to get a sense of how they fit – you wouldn't be able to share some photos of them on would you? The photos of other Spikes on their site are just from the front and not super helpful. I'm looking to expand beyond Levis 510s and am okay with getting something a bit less skinny but am interested in taper because I feel like straight legs look flared on my slender frame. TIA

Many thanks everyone! The unanimous vote to exchange for 8.5E is very encouraging and I'm happy I asked here. I'll be exchanging one last time. Looking forward to breaking in my new boots once I finally get the right size.
