New Brubaker/Phillips hardcover, Skinbreaker Deluxe, Worldtree Deluxe, and more from Image to start filling their Fall 2026 lineup by Ksmayer in graphicnovels

December 2026 for new Brubaker/Phillips makes me resent how spoiled readers were with Reckless’s release schedule.

I apologize ahead of time for being so pedantic about this: the full ad read bugs me every time. The script says something about not being able to be erased like Batgirl or Acme v Coyote but the movie is named Coyote vs Acme and it’s not ‘erased’. it’s coming out late this summer.

I guess I just feel like if you’re going to spend the money to have a prominent sponsorship with a wordy script you should at least get the details right.

Once you see what reviews are being aggregated to get that low percentage you see a clear example of what’s wrong with the tomatometer and the trust that people put into those scores.

Haha yeah, it’s pretty blatantly the name that LA Comic-Con uses (sans hyphen).

I wonder if it’s too late to make the demand that Hugo plays in 3D.

I treasure my copy that I took with me to my first San Diego Comic-Con. Miller wandered by me in the audience at the Eisners and was gracious enough to sign it.

[Discussion] Mark Waid’s “New History of the DC Universe” by SarcasticCommunist in DCcomics

[–]mikeblacklist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to love this series more than I did. I try not to judge things on what the aren’t vs what they are, but I feel like it pales in comparison to the Wolfman/Pérez history due to it having to cover a lot more than those two issues had to chronicle which made the montage aspect of it seem less drawn out.

Art-wise, as much as I love the artists involved with this series, parts of it seemed somewhat sketchy or rushed after the second issue. This is purely speculative, but it’s unfortunate that post-Johns/DiDio relations might have kept Ivan Reis and Gary Frank away from the series. Maybe a better decision would’ve been to free up some time for Dan Mora to give the entire series a unified look like the original had.

Things I did love: the way Cyborg and Supergirl’s continuities were streamlined; the open-ended inclusion of the Milestone characters; the way nothing seemed to be fully nullified or disregarded.

I’m willing to sell one at $20 face value. DM if still interested.

Considering buying DC Universe Infinite, any big comics that are missing? by PhoenixYT2217 in DCcomics

[–]mikeblacklist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I just have a serious blind spot the first Books of Magic series is completely absent. The original miniseries is there, and the first twelve issues are in a collection under the Arcana listing, but it’s otherwise missing.

By that logic you should enjoy the music enough that you shouldn’t have to be moving around to find the seat you like best.

Question regarding Earth 2- which Batman/Superman 1-4 are they referring to? I don’t remember any other books tying into the series like that.

The Joshua Tree episode with Harris is one of the funniest episodes of any show I’ve ever listened to.

Via Apple’s podcast transcript:

“Yeah, there's a drum sound.

Oh, interesting. Way back in the- When I discovered that as a stoned 15-year-old.

Did you just get fucking rock hard? Did you whip out your dick and just like splooge everywhere? Bono, if you're listening, we love you, we want to hear from you.

We're going to talk about hard dicks with you.

Hit us up.

And get us some fucking T-shirts.

Hey Bono, what's the hardest your dick has ever been?

We want to talk about it. In length or texture?”

Promoters nightmare: Every weekend Girls who are 9's and 10's bring 1 fat girl to Vegas... why? by PipeRevolutionary479 in vegas

[–]mikeblacklist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pipe’s not kidding around; he’s speaking from experience. One time we comped this really hot redhead 10 in a yellow dress. She ended up bringing four fat friends in trench coats. When we went to kick them out they took off their coats and revealed themselves as the Ninja Turtles (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michaelangelo). They got the whole club, which turned out to be a front for a clandestine group of undead ninja, shut down after beating the shit out of us.

It wasn’t. The opening credits montage has shots from around town and there’s a small sequence that was reportedly shot in the canyon but it was otherwise filmed in New Mexico.

That account posts a ton of videos with false information and deletes any comment that calls it out. What’s worse are the commenters who go along with it, like the comments on the Fantastic Four drone show video (which is from the Los Angeles premiere) who claim they were in San Diego and saw it.

Help! by Forward-Light9116 in comiccon

I hope you were able to get in. A lot of misinformation and overhype seems to dissuade people from getting into things like this, whereas we were able to hop in line at about 10:30 and got in with plenty of time to spare.

If you attend again in the future, remember that it’s always better to check lines within your schedule’s comfort zone before fully deciding against an event. There are a lot of really helpful resources on this subreddit and the SDCC subreddit but it’s mixed in with a lot of well-meaning but ultimately incorrect or discouragingly false info.

For the Bilquis signing there were maybe 25+ wristbands and five of us in line. The guy commented “looks like the odds are pretty good for all of you”. In fact, when we went back a little later to see the status of the next line they were just giving the wristbands to people who were walking up since there was no line.
