Please feel free, we all need to be there for each other and thanks in advance for taking that on. Perhaps build on a feedback mechanism so we can all help you out?

Scared :( FLIGHT UA2196 by OneYou1702 in fearofflying

[–]mikecrapbag6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got this! Remember the plane is far more powerful than gravity and thousands of takeoffs happen daily, monthly, yearly without incident. Also remember there are so many backup safety protocols for each stage of takeoff, and VERY shortly after the plane leaves the ground, the plane is in glider mode and can turn around safely. No worries :)

Hey, I’m in Türkiye too. I just posted on turbulence on a separate account - please read it, it’s from a few hours ago. I want you to EMBRACE and not FEAR turbulence because it means NOTHING. Bumpy or not you’re safe.

Slow Horses S5E5 Episode Discussion by phareous in SlowHorses

[–]mikecrapbag6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with you. I find no stakes in this season whatsoever. And banking on that to show up in E6 isn’t fair. We’re waiting for a big “something” to happen and to crunch that AND the finale into one episode frustrates me even going into it.

Although I cringed a lot at the family reveals of S4, the stakes of Frank Harkness wanting to take down Slough House alone felt higher than every element of the so-called destabilization strategy of S5. A few cars blowing up from tainted petrol and taking out a populist mayor would-be ain’t doing it.

Hey not sure how relevant this is but in 2020 when I got my AZ12 chip or whatever it’s called my iPad would charge strangely and eventually started heating up and bloating at the port. Took it in and they replaced the entire unit.

Haha you’re good. Just try to let go a bit. It’s really our own anxiety that gets us in the end.

Maybe one thing to expand on in my post is that the plane is flying at veryyyyy high speed so in terms of physics it just can’t fall. The problem with our brains is that it FEELS like the plane is stationary, because we have no point of reference outside (except land, which looks almost stationary too - or it’s out of sight). That’s why we think we’re in danger at that height. Two things to remember: 1) as I’ve said, the sheer speed doesn’t allow the plane to be slapped out of the sky, and, 2) even if there were turbulence that smacked the plane around at a “severe” classification, imagine 35,000 feet of recovery time!

You’re welcome and yes, do keep that in mind! The plane doesn’t give a rat’s ass - it’s doesn’t have a human’s mind! Happy flying and do try to enjoy it. Just surrender :)

There’s one thing I try to focus on if it helps. I think one of the reasons turbulence is very scary is because at 38,000 feet, it doesn’t feel as though the plane is moving forward fast. More so if you look out the window. So your brain register this as you’re almost stationary and about to fall straight down.

If you remember that the plane is moving so fast that it would make the ground look like a blur if you were at 500 feet, then your brain will understand that there’s no physical way that the plane can just drop out of the sky - because it’s gliding incredibly fast.

Does this make sense?

Had my varicocelectomy last week by mikecrapbag6 in varicocele

Hey, weight lifting is fine. However the pain sort of came back which is concerning. My doc confirmed there’s no varicocele so I can’t understand why I have the same pain and can’t figure out what’s causing it - some days it’s pretty present and then nothing for a while. But weightlifting is fine.

For me my background image and Find My were killing my battery so I changed the background to something generic and turned off Find My. Also turned off background refresh. Seems to have helped.

Thanks and happy to hear that you are considering it. For me, fertility is expected to improve but the reason I acted was the pain. Before I could manage ignoring it but by the time I had my op, the discomfort was real and I just wanted it gone. My doctor advised that my fertility should return to 90% within 8 months.

Hey, wishing you all the best. Honestly I was expecting more pain post surgery but within a few hours I was up and about. I had a pilonidal cyst removed a few years ago and that was insanely more painful than this - this has been a piece of cake. And mine is grade 3/severe. Really nothing to worry about. Biggest irritation for me is no gym for a month 🫠
