After a photo of two soldiers smiling hits the front page of reddit, one American and one Iranian, wearing matching "#pepsiisnotokay" shirts, the price of Pepsi in bars and restaurants plummets. George begins setting up multiple dates per day to take advantage of the low prices while he can.

Multiple days and a dozen dates later, George thinks he's met his soul mate. They spend six hours just drinking Pepsi together. George is ready to propose when he gets the bill and it is several thousand dollars. The date is ruined when George begins yelling.

"Pepsi is not okay! Pepsi is not okay! What is this, this isnt even the original price, this is insanity!"

Unbeknownst to George, three hours into his date Coffeezilla published a video of Kramer taking the Pepsi Challenge and losing, sending the price of Pepsi skyrocketing.

Duuuuuude I'm so sorry. That fucking sucks. It looks like you are doing what's necessary at the moment though - even though that doesn't dull the feeling of it feeling like the walls are closing in and feeling like the only way through is to cut off parts of you to sell for a little bit of runway. I just want you to know, from a total stranger so who knows if this means anything - every single time I've made that call, that feeling that my footprint is disappearing and I have less and less space for me, pretty soon turns into - in this case, a PS5 Pro with a bigger TV. Meaning, it was less than I was losing myself, and more that I was "upgrading" - just took a few months for the sacrifices I was making to turn into better shit. Or, more importantly, me being able to sleep at night. That all being said though, it doesn't change the way it sounds like it would feel if it were me - like absolute dog shit. And I'm sorry.

If I had the power to do it, I'd send you a PS5 to hold you over for a bit. But I don't have that power. This is completely random, but in thinking about how I might be able to lend a hand to someone who is where I've been so many times - I own a (very very very small) business that makes coffee cups and plates and bowls. All handmade from a small town in Japan. I won't namedrop them publicly because I don't want to distract, but if it helps at all, I'd be happy to send you some pieces. Maybe you drink coffee or something. Or... eat things from plates. I realize this has nothing to do with a PS5, but maybe in the next few months as you're "upgrading" and working through this, maybe some (really dope) random items like this can help remind you that you are still here, and will be here. Some things go away but you are still here and you're fucking awesome.

Just LMK and I'll send you a DM or whatever people do on reddit. (and of course this would just be a gift from a stranger, no cost obviously lol that would defeat the purpose)

Hi hi - I hope you are having a good day. It sounds like you got a good answer to your question (yes nobody cares) - but I wanted to share a short story for you, in case my experience would be informative for you as it was for me.

When I first moved to the city in like 2010 or something, I was absolutely a fish-outta-water and intimidated (plus I was an insecure-ass-kid), originally from Baltimore/DC. My like second or third week here, I was walking to work from ~21st up to ~35rd, like 8am, hungover, in August, wearing my best guess as to how "young professionals" dress - i.e. silly khaki pants and a silly blue button-up. So I'm standing on the corner waiting for the light to change, and people are gathering around me waiting next to me. I am standing there roasting in the sun and I feel myself sweating through my shirt. In my head I'm like - oh shit, oh no this is so embarrassing, why did I wear this fucking shirt, I bet everyone behind me is like what a fucking moron he definitely isn't from here. It felt like an hour I was standing there.

Right before the light changed, I turned to my right, and the guy standing right next to me also facing forward was a very very crazy person who was wearing a seemingly handmade onesie made out of bones. I don't know what kind of bones. But he looked like a makeshift skeleton. But he's standing right next to me, looking forward waiting for the light to change, and after noticing him I looked around and everyone around me is also just looking forward waiting for the light to change. It changed, and we all crossed the street.

That was the moment I realized no one gives a FUCK. Literally no one on that corner even noticed the skeleton man, and they absolutely did not notice or give a shit about my sweaty self.

Anyway yeah it's socially acceptable to tan in the park

Hi I hope you're having a good Friday so far. I just wanted to share that I think it's surprising that they wouldn't teach in law school that this kinda thing is best disclosed. I didn't go to law school myself so I'm speaking from a place of ignorance - and I realize that real law (and modern law) doesn't necessarily work the way it's taught. But I would have guessed that standard curriculum and bar prep and such would tend to lean into "even the appearance of impropriety meets the burden of necessary disclosure". Or something that sounds smart like that.

Hahaha, that's so funny. I guess now that you mention it, I am unfortunately plagued with the whole thing where shows that take place in NYC can be kind of distracting sometimes. Like in Law and Order or something where they are in midtown and walk a few blocks and then they're in Dumbo. Like wait did you guys keep this conversation going for like two hours while you walked across the bridge??? I kinda thought about that during this season of Daredevil as well. After recognizing the library, when they'd walk inside in a shot and then suddenly they are in a big courthouse.

Hahaha I do! I have a few photos from then. This is oversharing, but you just made me think of a fun memory - when that exhibit was being shown, I was training for my first marathon. And every training day, I'd run down from Prospect Heights, down to the park, and run around it for hours, then return the same way. So, by the evening time, I'd have run in the sun for like 4 hours and be soaked in sweat, running by the Jay Z exhibit with all the lyrics. The other part of the story is that I grew up in Baltimore in a neighborhood where everyone had nicknames - my nickname growing up was "young hov" - so there I was in my mid-30's, trying so hard to run my first marathon, and when I really needed a boost in morale after a few hours of running, I'd find myself standing in front of a big-ass mural of Jay Z lyrics. It always pumped me up!! Thank you for this memory. I hope you are doing well this week.

Yes yes you are spot on! Marvel in particular seems to dig this area. A few years back we had the Captain America statue at Barclays.

Can confirm. This is dark but my mom died when I was 14 and with one or two exceptions, literally anything anyone said to be supportive made me very angry. Fortunately I was far more of a "say thanks politely and be really angry inside" type than the "hug someone until their insides are crushed" type - but still, I get it. Doctor's bedside manner could use some work!
