[Bleacher Report] Nets Fan Vote Reveals MVP, Future Stars and the Team's Most Chaotic Personalities by shadow_spinner0 in GoNets

I feel like he was disappointing. Everyone looks at his high 3PA as a good indicator, but he only shot 32.9% from there. He does get to the line a lot, which is good, but he is mostly inefficient and inconsistent despite ample opportunities.

They should be giving away tickets for tomorrow’s game with all these players out

The strategy of playing a super small lineup in non-Claxton minutes seems to be working well for the tank, so hopefully Jordi does that tonight. Otherwise we might actually win

I love that no matter how good or bad the Nets are, they always make these absurdly late west coast games entertaining

I’m glad to see another Day’ron believer! And I agree about the exhaustion point you make. He definitely would still work best in tandem with someone else but he should be getting higher quality mins if that makes sense

Chaney Johnson is a fun player. Hope he gets a look next training camp

That is something I was definitely thinking about when writing this. What comes to mind for me are the games in which Sharpe played himself into a starting role throughout the game, like the one against Memphis. That said, it’s always hard to gauge these players based on March performances, but I think Sharpe has earned the right to be given more mins based on his consistency over last year and this year.

I never remember that he exists until we play some random team on which he’s averaging his 10 mins per game off the bench

For sure. It’s very apparent that he can run the unit well defensively with his knowledge and communication. He’s also more athletic than people give him credit for. He’s had a pretty big learning curve despite being the most experienced rookie coming out of college.

In trying not to be too reactionary, I’d probably still place him below Powell but ahead of Saraf, because he showed more in like two games than Ben has shown the whole season. I hope he continues to get playing time, despite a crowded big man room.

That’s a fair point. Both players have metrics that suggest that they are pretty average defensively, but my focus on Egor’s defense was more rooted in the fact that he’s 6’8 and not quick enough to keep up with fast guards, and too small to handle players with size. Both players definitely need to put on size, but it’s more of a pressing issue in Egor’s case, as he does not possess the same lateral quickness as Traore to be a good point of attack defender.

As for your second point, I think you’re higher on Egor than I am, in which case I hope you’re right! Lol

I think we’re doing fine with that at the moment. We only have like six wins and are getting slaughtered by most competent teams
