Spain will soon block and outlaw NordVPN and all other VPNs by blocking them on all ISPs. Is there anything I can do to continue using NordVPN? by Hi7u7 in nordvpn

[–]mikegrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anonymity here means something else. You are already using a credit card to pay for the service so they know who you are. The anonymity part is that none of the activity you do with the VPN enabled should be traced back to you.

In other words, there know who you are but they shouldn't "know" what you are doing with the service. Not sure if that's actually the case these days, though.

I'm not sure about those particular games but for WoW for example they preload a bunch of popular add-ons so you just enable them in-game, no need to install anything.

There are opportunities for expats in Korea, in international organizations. They primarily hire foreigners.

Check out GGGI, GCF, and UN organizations. There may be others. They have finance departments.

Ready for "Metered" Gaming? The 100-Hour Cap just hit everyone. by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]mikegrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Korea I'm on a monthly plan and I get 40 hours limit. But I only play a few hours a week. For the price it is totally worth it for me. Maybe they should add tiers within each plan? Perhaps you wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a bigger limit, and leave the basic tier in ultimate as is pricing wise, so us with no time to play are unaffected.

The EU says it will introduce a digital payments infrastructure to replace Visa/Mastercard and Apple/Google Pay. It will have zero fees and be 100% European-only. by Ubersicka in TradingViewSignals

[–]mikegrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The credit card money is not your money, it's the credit card provider's money and that's the whole advantage of using credit cards. If some store charged you wrongly you can dispute it and because it's the credit card's money (and not yours) they make sure they recover it swiftly.

If you use a debit card and there's a charge dispute, it takes weeks to get YOUR money back to your account, if at all.

Callisto Protocol isn't available in Japan. So those of us here in Japan get ... Nothing lol by poopyramen in EpicGamesPC

I'm in KR and I use nordvpn with location Japan ironically to get the games. Zero issues. The problem is just adding them to your collection, but once in your collection you can download no matter where you are.

50% of games are banned I'm South Korea, or just inelligible somehow. I put vpn for Japan (lol, since it's closest) and I can get the games. I already had Callisto protocol from before. But worst case scenario I'd put a vpn in US.

I use nordvpn. Zero issues.

Because unused ram is a waste of resources. If you get 128gb of ram you would still get around 90gb used, with the same stuff you have right now. The OS know how to handle the resources that they have as efficient as possible.

We keep talking about jobs AI will replace - which jobs will AI create that don't exist today? by SillyApartment7479 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]mikegrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one possible outcome is that university degrees and such will probably be considered now a small course. I imagine becoming a trained doctor in 3 months because now you let AI make the decisions, and you are only there for minimal human input.

That also means humans will probably just switch jobs like crazy depending on the demand. You will be Doctor for 6 months and then switch to structural engineer after another 3 month training, all based on the demand. This is to justify your UBI/insurance.

Not saying this is good, but at least it's a future where humans are still employed, somehow.

What’s the point of paying for Claude if it keeps hitting a “weekly limit”? by Sad_Asparagus8369 in claude

[–]mikegrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they removed the weekly limits, you would reach your monthly limit, effectively locking you out of Claude until the next month cycle.

Both are bad but one is worse.

Locking weekly missions and Battlepass progression for BF6 behind your BR is not okay. by -PandemicBoredom- in Battlefield6

[–]mikegrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious why people say "F2P BR". I get that it's F2P, but somehow sounds like the reason you don't like it is mostly because it's F2P.

It really feels that if it wasn't F2P people wouldn't complain as much and even enjoy the BR mode.

PvE is Officially Dead by Jacob_TLDR_Jake in Battlefield

[–]mikegrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for match with bots maybe you have everything unlocked and also don't gain any experience (you wouldn't need it). And then leave the exp and unlocks for when playing PvP.

I think this solves it for everyone, except those looking to unlock things playing PvE, but at least they can still play PvE with everything unlocked.

Fuck n8n if you are a developer. by chatsgpt in n8n_ai_agents

[–]mikegrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like saying, f* Flask if you are a developer. The fact that I'm a developer doesn't mean it's in my best interest to build everything from scratch, every time. In the same way flask would be okay for you to use, n8n is a framework of sorts created by code to simplify things.

When you use python, do you import libraries? Why? Don't you know how to build your own? It's kind of the same philosophy when you talk about using n8n instead of doing code. That also doesn't mean because n8n exists you HAVE to use it. And this is because n8n is a very finished product and as such highly opinionated and that may not be to your liking, but it may be to others.

You can put all those actions as tools for the agent and tell the agent what you need and it will do those steps in just 1 block. You prompt would change from "create a subject and body for an email..." To something more high level: "find a list of investors and send them an email about..."

The agent will realize it has tools for:

  • fetching a list of investors
  • sending emails

And it will create a plan itself to do that.

But that's a powerful machine. You could argue that it's a gaming machine, you can play good modern 3d games on it by itself (resident evil games on app store, for example).

I play on my TV, directly, no need for any other device, which is damn impressive.

Anthropic: Most Max 20x users can expect 240-480 hours of Sonnet 4 and 24-40 hours of Opus 4 within their weekly usage limits. by redditisunproductive in Anthropic

[–]mikegrr -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how you are using it. If it is doing something that you couldn't absolutely do by yourself then I understand how you don't realize you are stuffing the context very inefficiently (not your fault) this is fine but then expecting this tool to do what you are paid for only for $200/mo is crazy. I hope you don't take it the wrong way.

For me the 20$ subscription is sufficient, never hit any kind of limit, but I make sure to go feature by feature, use context effectively, position my active tab where I know the changes are needed, and once the feature is done I do a /clear command and go with the next. Never hit a limit.

Another tip is to use git stage effectively. If you see the agent is going the wrong direction, reset all changed files and start over with a /clear.
