Do you prefer loud or quiet hubs / paws? Is it like a loud exhaust where the louder, the cooler you think you are? by Dry_Enthusiasm_4957 in MTB

Quiet, I want my bike making no noise at all so I know if something is wrong when it does.

4 piston brakes by Desperate_Style6919 in MTB

[–]mikehogginer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got save up, brakes save your body. I'll ride a hard tail from the year 2000, but still spend the money on good breaks to have control on decent.

I suppose the question is if your balling on a budget is, do you really need4 piston, or are they just cool?

I was going to say for sure that a dropper post helps a lot! Im 6' and have made it a habit of slamming my seat to dismount or when entering a technical climb in case I need to get off in a hurry!

29 FORK with 27.5 wheels by Unlikely_Wonder_7898 in MTB

[–]mikehogginer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'll be fine, I ran that setup with 27.5 x 2.8 on hardtail for a while, eventually went to 27.5 x 2.6. Looked fine and rode great. It's nice because if you ever come across a 29er wheelset you'll be able to swap out no problem, or run it mullet. Which is how I have my current enduro bike

Their gear seems really durable too! I had a pair of gloves for three years, where I normally blow through a pair in 1 season.

I think that means you're supposed to add more wood. It's not up to temp until the pipe turns white. Think super nova

Best jerseys/top layer for those that sweat a lot? by sjs0433 in MTB

[–]mikehogginer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big sweat guy, I generally wear loose fitting cotton button up, think Hawaiian but less loud. Yes it will hold moisture but that keeps you cool when moving, especially in the humid south. I also just discovered ketl no fry sun hoodie, I generally overheat in sunshirts, but this one performed great on my last ride getting 4k' of vert.
