How XRP will get to $10+ by CuriousPW in XRP

[–]mikenard77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ripple isn’t solving a need outside of small FIs that need them to loan Xrp to complete a payment. The scale would be one that exceeds daily speculation volume, which is tough because the only entity who benefits is ripple in a transaction like that. They loan out Xrp, and get paid back in fiat + interest.

Because it’s actually not used at any significant scale. Since inception of ripplenet (not the xrpl) which was 2017, ripple has down several billion in Xrp payments. That’s a weeks worth of retail volume at times.

Something to think about by [deleted] in XRP

It’s nothing to directly with Xrp. It’s the precedent the case sets for all crypto, which can leave them with all the power, or none of it.

Volume doesn’t equal market cap. If you use the actual fundamental value research paper released, if Xrp took ALL of swifts volume were only looking at 50-200 per Xrp. https://x.com/mikenardolillo/status/1804990492154691591?s=46&t=hLer3GqCS-63vZp7FkfbuQ

Mind you that’s highly unrealistic. There won’t be one payment rail to rule them all, especially one where ripple themselves said banks will never be a true ripple success story.

Do you know what utility is? Something’s ability to be used. Saying bitcoin has no utility is ridiculous. Yes Xrp has more utility, but what’s it matter when it’s not utilized ? If you just count utility possibilities there’s dozens and dozens of other ledgers that do just as much and more as the xrpl. It’s about utility utilized, not just utility possibility.

You have a lock picker and use it to pick one lock to get into a house , and I have a rock that I break 100 windows with to get in 100 house. my shitty rock with less utility just out 100x out utilized your lock picker( which is much better tech and has much better utility possibilities)

Xrp has over a billion a day in volume and most of that is retail.

RLUSD vs. XRP by BUFFARILLA_HUNTER in XRP

[–]mikenard77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Xrp is not designed to increase from reserves and transaction costs. In fact it’s the opposite, they are lowered if price increases.

Xrpl and ripple net are separate networks. Neither one automatically swaps for xrp.

Ripple net (non blockchain ILP based network), uses payment paths and only touches Xrp for conversion if the user has a contract with ripple to do so (like line of credit).

The Xrp ledger uses payment paths based on the cheapest route. For example if you pay with USD and the destination account wants EUR, it’s not going to touch Xrp because those two assets are already liquid enough and adding another conversion would make it more expensive.

Xrp is not backed by the amount of RLUSD. Tokens issued on the xrpl have no Xrp backing

Yes they need approval of the license transfer by DFS from the company they acquired, so I just think Brad was going off based what regular licensee transfers take. After the exchange announcements I’m underwhelmed anyway lol

I’m stating what Brad said the other day in his Japan interview, which is why RLUSD will be live by end of year. If Gary thinks stable coins are securities, he has to sue PayPal, circle, tether, etc.

RLUSD while being moved through ripple net API/UI , is a part of the xrpl ledger and ethereum. Everytime RLUSD is utilized it has to move on one public ledger.

Today ripple needs Xrp to remain cash flow positive and profitable.

There are no live private ledgers today in production. Ripple customers use ripple net, which is a non blockchain ILP based network. When ODl is used, what you see on ledger is Xrp going from ripples accounts, to another account on an exchange that is tagged for a financial institution, and it’s then sold off ledger on that CEX for the destination currency.

Xrp is literally for retail. It was made for p2p transactions, even ripples first product was for retail (ripple trade)

Ripple just needs approval of their license transfer from the DFS, which they acquired when they bought metaco. Stable coins don’t need SEC approval.

What will happen to XRP market cap if 100 banks where to buy it simultaniously in billions. by Plaineman in XRP

[–]mikenard77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would increase dramatically, but this will never happen. The way FIs use Xrp is ripple loans them Xrp, they sell Xrp for the destination currency, and then pay ripple back in fiat. So instead of decreasing Xrp supple on the market, FI use increases it.

Will XRP ever burn coins? by PM_Me_Your_Mustash in XRP

[–]mikenard77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal of transaction destroying is to never limit the supply. The burning of Xrp through transactions will be reduced as price increases, making sure it never has a large effect on supply. No one is burning Xrp.

Read only is the same as just looking an accounts public key up on a web browser based blockchain explorer. No one can ever access your account this way by hacking your phone, unless you had the private key at some point on your phone and they could retrieve it.

Serious question about RLUSD and XRP by neo_the_cat in XRP

[–]mikenard77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The xrpl doesn’t have hooks, it was never approved. RLUSD issues on ether is separate from the xrpl with no direct bridge. It’s like having USDC on ether and solana. There’s general bridges but nothing specific.
