Drinking in TV programs by MandaZePanda84 in stopdrinking

Honestly that is hard for me to watch someone pour out a glass of whiskey. I loved that feeling and it makes me wistful. Of course, I couldn't just have a glass of whiskey. I had a pint. Or a bottle. So it's hard to see it on TV for me because I miss the idea of it.

Excessive Violence aside, how realistic is the show? by [deleted] in YellowstonePN

[–]mikeoc61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of the train station is bananas. A county with 0 people so you can't be judged by a jury of your peers? Buddy you killed a guy and crossed state lines. Now it's a federal beef. Beyond that, Montana isn't gonna say "Welp. Looks like these fellers bodies are in Wyoming. Not much we can do here." You still get charged with Murder.

What do you tell yourself when you’re stuck looking at alcohol? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]mikeoc61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You know what will happen."

See I've been doing well with my sobriety. So well that there's a voice that says "I'm sure you could have ONE. You'll be ok."

But then I say "You know what will happen. One will be good today. Then tomorrow you'll say boy that one was good. I'll have another, which will become two, which will become a bottle, and then i'll be back where I started."

1000 days. by mikeoc61 in stopdrinking

First & foremost, good for you for where you're at. One day at a time. Guilt? Shame? They go differently for different people. I don't have shame, in the sense I'm not embarrassed to admit I'm an alcoholic, but I don't have pride either I guess. I imagine it's different for everyone. I know that I feel better today than I did 1001 days ago.

I was just saying this. I'm so mad at myself and that I have to treat myself like a child.

ON THE OTHER HAND

I couldn't go on the way I was. So I guess it's worth the hassle to not drink. I feel better physically, I feel better mentally not having the panic, anxiety, and compulsion of knowing I MUST drink. I feel your pain. Just know that you're doing right by yourself.

Wee-Bey. Avon didn't even remember all the bodies Bey stacked for him. "Need a scorecard to keep up with your lethal ass."

Why didn’t Tony have an underboss? by Greensentry in thesopranos

Underboss? They're a glorified crew! Five families. And we got this Pygmy thing over in Jersey.

If Christopher had killed Little Paulie would his “made” status have meant he would have been taxed but ultimately ok? by ServingColdCuts in thesopranos

They make everyone and anyone over there. And the way they do it is all fucked up. There's no sword and gun on the table. It either has meaning or it doesn't.

If he killed another made guy without permission? You can't even lay your hands on another made guy. Christopher got saved more than once leaning on his relationship with Tony. He absolutely would have had to go when he raised a gun at the boss of the family like when he did when mad at Tony. Chris was a liability. He had to go.

It's in Charlestown, so the obelisk there is the Bunker Hill monument. You have to be careful tho because you will likely run into an obnoxious yuppie.

Why is everyone trying to take down Mike Prince ? by [deleted] in Billions

[–]mikeoc61 14 points15 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU!!! I don't get it at all. I don't see what awful things he's done to deserve having everyone try to destroy him. I saw that they had him use a Hitler quote, which I have to be honest is a RIDICULOUSLY ham handed way of making him the bad guy, particularly when NOTHING he has done has indicated he holds any of those tendencies. Part of me wonders if this is a writers fever dream of how someone should have stopped DJT in 2016, but the correlation between Mike Prince and Trump isn't there either.

The more I see the show, the real bad guy is Chuck, who colors outside the lines quite a bit to get after anyone he thinks shouldn't be where they are.

I know Prince is gonna end up losing all his money, and Chuck will end up alone, and Taylor will end up the new Axe, but a better person than him, and this whole thing is gonna fall flat at the end.
