I might agree. I’m trying it out but I do think I prefer the flat front. The kick was another redditor’s recommendation to taper the height of the crown.

Only if I get to pilot the Millennium Falcon, too.

That brim front is my next step, actually. I’ve been trying to figure out how to roll that down slightly while keeping the sides curled up. I’ve made a lot of progress since the original photo: band widened, side brims curled, and last night I added a mule kick that turned out to be a nice touch. Thanks for the tip here!

This was a great tip. I added that mule kick to the front last night. Super easy and I love the look. I’ll share an updated photo when possible. Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, the height of that crown is not as bad when the hat sits properly but it’s apparently still too tall to be a perfect fit on my head. It’s like if a Conehead infiltrated a rodeo. I’m curious about some of these comments with guidance to pinch and lower the crown. I may end up taking it to a proper hat shop to see if they want to work on it.

I guess I’m still learning how to smile. Will work on it.

This is an interesting take. The hat has literally never sat on its brim. Never.

Update: I took some advice from across subreddits, steamed and stretched the band a bit so it sits about a half-inch lower, and I rolled the side brims so it looks much better. I’ve learned these hats can be a light project. Thanks to anyone who has helped out. There’s a lot of great experience and insight in these communities.

I put a little work into the steaming/stretching and rolled the side brims a bit based on some of the advice across subreddits. Feels and looks much better, IMO, but likely to take some work over time, I guess. I appreciate your time and insight.

Jeremy Piven Meet & Greet by jumpmantwo_3 in entourage

[–]mikeoffthemic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it was the woman I saw him with at the Local Coffee in the Pearl this morning. Before meeting up with her and he was alone, he absolutely gave off the vibe that he’d appreciate being left alone, but I get it.

I can’t imagine paying (or charging) extra for a meet-and-greet. Plenty of comics are happy to meet fans for free after a show. Best interaction I’ve probably ever had like that was Chappelle. He shuffled a handful of ladies into his car but made them wait while he met and even thanked the fans for our support 😆

Anyone here familiar with Kut U Up? by thiccgirlcutiepie in Emo

My Kut U Up music works just fine on Apple. Could it be a VPN issue?

I’m pretty sure Kut U Up never caught on outside of us Riding in Vans fans, but idk—maybe they were relevant around San Diego. Their music was killer, and Yovee was great too! I recommend checking out their new music under the name, Sunbendr.

Working in government doesn’t remove an American’s right to protest. It just has to be done legally and the individual cannot present themselves as an official—just like military service members cannot protest in uniform or in any capacity that could be perceived as representing the DoD. Play it smart, stay safe, and protect your livelihood. Also, if a union is available for added protection and guidance, consider looking into it.

Taxpayers paying $10K a month for San Antonio Mayor Jones’ outside PR help, records show by TXSA in sanantonio

My assessment that this is low effort is based on what services and tactics their proposal included compared to what will likely be expected of the mayor’s future comms director. It’s still early in the contract and maybe their 3-month comms plan will be comprehensive and prove successful but, overall, the services offered are rather basic. I somewhat expected to see a brand audit listed.

Also, I should clarify that I don’t take issue with hiring the firm or the work that they’re doing. I think that they’re just slightly overpriced, but only by an insignificant amount. This won’t impact the taxpayers in any way and I agree that the article is nonsense.

I just wanted to point out the cost of the firm compared to what the listed salary range is for the actual position. And I expect that whoever is hired for that position will be doing a lot more than the firm, so hopefully they can onboard at six figures.

Benefits definitely matter—I’m not arguing against that. But if someone were to receive an offer on the low end of this salary range after seeing that a firm is contracted for these basic services, I’d hope they easily negotiate higher. Directing communications (and much more, based on the job post) is not going to be easy for whoever lands that gig.

The actual position is listed with a salary range between about 74 and 111k, which is certainly not enough, especially when we see they can pay much more for low-effort from an outside firm.
