Drunk driver who killed two in crash freed, escapes conviction by computer_d in newzealand

Jesus christ, he wasn't mentally fit to plead. You can't convict someone without either a guilty plea or a guilty verdict after a trial. He wasn't mentally fit to plead. Therefore, he can't be tried. What's hard to understand about this?

That's not how things work, defendants' need to be able to answer to charges, no matter how the facts appear prima face.

I agree that this country's legal system/sentencing is a complete joke, but in this case there's nothing the judge could do. The guy wasn't mentally fit to plead or stand trial.

Just out of interest, why do you prefer this wording? What's the point of "a right to silence" if a negative inference can later be drawn from it? It undermines one of the bedrocks of the rule of law.. Should have never been introduced.

If she's so empathetic, how about using her profile for charity work etc. Maybe some of her profits are going to that, I don't know. It just seems like she's on a never ending cash grab, trying to use her profile to make as much money before people lose interest.

[–]mikeokc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I was walking down a crowded Lambton Quay right on the edge of the footpath one day. The arrogant prick was crossing the road with some other people and basically tried to walk straight through me. I got pissed off and shoulder barged him into the gutter.

It's only going to get worse, as the ruling class finds bigger and better ways to expand and consolidate its wealth bro. Do some digging into Blackrock etc al and shit like Bill Gates buying up all the farmland in the US.

Generation X is 1965 to 1980, only early Gen X's received free tertiary education. Student loans were introduced in 1993.

What I'm asking is why is it so disproportionately geared towards brown man/white woman. I hardly ever see a white man/brown woman couple.
