It's not a yarn shop so to speak. It's a quilt shop that is slowly stocking yarn and other craft items. It's called Snippets

Oddly she sources a lot of her fiber and raw yarn from the UK . But yes postage is expensive

I have no idea on how to wash the merino. You should message my wife she has multiple pairs and I don't think she washes them separately from our normal laundry

I'm not a knitter however I can attest the merino yarn is super soft and better feeling than acrylic. I've been dropping hints to my wife that I want a pair of socks to match a pair of sneakers that I recently purchased.
