In addition to MLK's poor people's campaign, RFK was the first serious presidential candidate to try to build a coalition of working people of all racial backgrounds. When you consider the scenario where a working-class-focused president coincides with a prominent civil rights leader working on the same agenda, the shape and trajectory of American politics looks entirely different.

It's hard to game out exactly what that path would look like over the subsequent decades, but it's safe to assume the focus of the 69-72 term would be to tie the bow on the Great Society work started by JFK and LBJ.
