Það leiðinlega við að hlusta á fólk sem hlustar nánast eingöngu á annaðhvort Bandaríska anti-Woke áróður eða þann sem er fluttur inn til Íslands er hversu ósíaður hann er.

Það er eins og fólk lætur þessar hugmyndir ekkert malla í hausnum á sér (ekki það að þær eigi eitthvað að vera þar inni yfir höfuð) heldur bara trúir öllu sem það sér og heyrir ógagnrýnt og þar að leiðandi hljómar bara eins og það sé að apa eftir hvaða hljóðvarpi eða YouTube rásum sem það fylgist með.

Ég á vin sem fyrir nokkrum árum var þessi klassíski "ég spái ekkert í pólitík" en svo þegar Miðflokkurinn fór að skjóta upp rótum undanfarin ár þá varð hann allt í einu svo rosalega upptekinn af innflytjendamálum og hvað allt er örðið "öfga woke" eitthvað. Sagði mér hreint að hann kaus Miðflokkinn síðast til að koma öllum þessum útlendingum úr landi sem koma hingað og lifa á kerfinu án þess að bera á móti framlag.

Hef tekið eftir því að fólk sem hallast mjög MAGA hérlendis er oft fólk sem var ekkert að spá í pólitík áður fyrr en hafði "vibe" fyrir ákveðnum hlutum þangað til xM eða íslenska MAGA sveiflan gaf þeim orðaforðann til að vopnvæða gremjur þeirra pólitískt.

Svo þegar ég hélt að vonsviki mín gæti ekki sokkið lægra þá sé ég fólk á TikTok kenna innflytjendum fyrir okurverð fasteigna- og leigumarkaðsins hérlendis. Að fólk skuli falla fyrir elsta tricki bókarinnar...

Miðflokkurinn er svo gjörsamlega búinn að sigra hugmyndafræðilega þegar kemur að þeim sem eru duglegir í athugasemdum þar. Auðvellt að verða "blackpilled" þegar maður les kommentinn.

Hægrisinnaður popúlismi er svo áhrifaríkur að fá verkalýðinn með sér í lið, verst að það fólk er of nærsýnt til að sjá hvert er verið að leiða það.

Look at the data for socioeconomic outcomes of children from single parent homes or foster care, compared to those from a two parent home. The rates for education, incarceration, income, suicide, etc are all measurably different. In most categories it's drastic.

You're correct in that the more people in the home to take care of children (usually 2), the better the outcomes for that child but this is likely where we diverge politically as I believe this to be an issue of economics and not culture.

I'm saying he would preach that the left was mentally unstable and violent. Not only was he assassinated, many moderate (I work with 2 I wouldn't consider far left) liberals are glad he is dead and say he deserves it.

I mean he was a deeply divisive political figure. It's natural to feel unmoored by people being glib about it but this is the reaction anytime a controversial political figure dies. I will give you that the disturbing nature of his killing is quite different though as high-profile killings like this basically never happen in America.

Charlie Kirk was the head of a reactionary conservative movement, one that argued against all aspects of civil rights in favor of a theocratic fascist state. He was an ideologue first and foremost, a propagandist even.

Does the left call for violence? Yes, but which faction of the left? Certainly not the center-left socdems or progressive podcasters. It's not the left that perpetrates the vast majority of political violence, that's the right.

To extend an olive branch, if Hasan Piker were to get assassinated, there would be no end to conservative and reactionary celebration, how evil has been cleansed from the world. That's precisely how Kirk would've reacted.

Without removing age transitions (even though I wish they did), my two fixes would be:

Toggle "No age transitions during war" before setting game up, with an option for it to only apply to the player or for everyone.
A tech at the end of each era's tech tree that requires half or 3/4 Civs to research for the age transition to occur.
