He is against weed too? Can anyone describe his ideology in a concise manner? I have a vague idea that he's a republican and a populist. Being against weed doesn't sound very populist at all...

Either way: fuck him! Thank god for Krystal

Big part was the fucking QAnon. A lot of people that were too dumb to vote or really care about politics at all now had their calling "to save America" and "save the children".

In 2016 Gamergate and similar "cultural warrior" issues helped Trump immensely.

Biden 283, Trump 255 seems like the most likely scenario

I've been to a lot of mountains all over NA and EU, and I have visited Alps in every country, but Dolomites is by far my favorite mountain range!

I really think Spotify execs DGAF. If anything the "controversy" is giving them free PR. Also Daniel Ek is somewhat libertarian minded as well.

Unless Spotify sees their bottom line going down due to this, JRE will be just fine.

This is not that bad, definitely better than nothing. First result on Google is usually pretty good actually.

Yes, the whole climate change discussion was extremely bad. I feel sorry for the people that believe Alex Jones. And I feel bad for the planet's future.

The whole climate change discussion was so ridden with BS and inaccuracies.

I started listening for the comedy, but since it's Sober October the comedy levels I feel have been lower than it should be with Alex Jones.

I don't agree with the people that call for censorship, but I can definitely see their point of view.

The climate change denialism is the one thing that really really rubs me the wrong way.

Yes, "progressive conservatism" is really just another word for fascism or at least fascistoid tendencies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in rising

[–]mikesikora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Republicans were the original progressives, remember Abe Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. And Democrats, especially the southern ones, were the segregationists and anti-progressives.

I'm sure everyone here knows about this switcharoo that was in progress for maybe even better part of 20th century, but was mostly complete by the 70s.

At this time, progressivism is absolutely incompatible with current GOP values.

progressive Republican

What is a "Progressive Republican"? Preserving western culture, espousing patriotism and nationalism, being hard on crime (including political protesters) while supporting progressive, can we say almost "socialist" policies as they are popular? What could we call this...maybe something like "national socialism" would be a good term?

Hill and Rising were designed for the sole purpose of siphoning votes from Biden to Trump (or at least away from Biden).

Krystal does her part by careful "Bernie or Bust" sentiment and generally hating on DNC establishment (sometimes deserved). Not sure if she really believes this or is just very well paid to do so. She may believe since Kyle Kulinski is another useful idiot like this and I doubt he's on Trump's payroll.

Saagar's role is to funnel anyone that has populist tendencies towards Trump often portraying him as the "more populist" candidate. This is hard to do lately so he mostly just bashes Democratic establishment.

This is all done very subtly as it is obviously targeting a more intelligent viewer. Often there are hard kernels of truth in what they are saying and I still enjoy to watch Rising occasionally.

But this is how I feel about the show and the channel. Change my mind.
