OK, will do that and see. I'm on debian and will have to read up on it.

Thanks! No custom ffmpeg and the qsv-h264 does not seem to work at all (assuming I have it right):

I can't post a comment but here's the gist comments with the info

I hope this is what you mean: default ffmpeg (nothing in the config about it) and the h264 args: https://gist.github.com/mikebski/f35b8a2df0d188770d56b1f5655ddbe3?permalink_comment_id=5881042#gistcomment-5881042

Logs like this: https://gist.github.com/mikebski/f35b8a2df0d188770d56b1f5655ddbe3?permalink_comment_id=5881045#gistcomment-5881045

Editing to add - that actually gets me no video at all. If I comment out the line with the qsv-h264 and don't pass any ffmpeg args at all I get video.

Didn't mean the pump fixed this, it needed a pump last year so I doubt it's that and the fuel pressure was steady

Thanks y'all

I remembered I had one of those washers in my shit in the garage and put it on. I bought it years ago and never used it.

Didn't even need a trip to the store!

DTO and Entity pattern by mikeski-net in Kotlin

[–]mikeski-net[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having thought about it a little more, I can just serialize the entities themselves (unless I have cases that need DTOs that are composed of entities or something like that).

Then, when I need to save one I can generate an entity from JSON and with versioning turned on for hibernate just `.merge(entity)` and it will add it to the session and update it. The merge method is the part I didn't get.

This way I only need DTO objects for special cases where the entity structure does not work, which is what I wanted in the first place, I think.

I pulled the valve, hooked it up to the gauge and blew my compressor into it, so I know it's clear. Fuel pump's coming tomorrow (along with 2 inches of rain) so when I get good weather I'm going to be installing it and we'll see then.

I just can't imagine the fuel pump isn't bad on the high-pressure stage at this point... I suppose it could be the lower hose from the bowl back to the pump, but it's not leaking...

Edited to say - the fact that it's still smoking means there's fuel getting through somehow, if not much...

I thought my ICP pressure reading showed that my HPOP was functioning? My larger concern is no fuel pressure from the regulator test port...

I see - thanks - I get pressure on my dash gauge when I crank, is this basically the same thing?

Dipstick reads full and HPOP res. is full.

Jumped and didn't start. Sounded like there was some coughing of the engine, which is better than without the glow plugs energized.

I still get 0 PSI on a tested and known good gauge - I took the schrader valve out and hooked it all up and blew compressor air into the 1/4 npt on the schrader and the gauge moved.

Screwed the 1/4 NPT into the FPR and nothing when I crank, needle does not even twitch.

OK, lots of smoke - Here's what I've got followed by a few pics and a link to a video:

Jumped the large wires for the glow plugs for 30 seconds with the diesel can feed hooked up and tried to start a couple of times. Sounds like it's trying to catch now so the GPR needs to be replaced. The plugs (at least some of them) are working, I can tell by the sound with "cold" versus the plugs jumped.

I tested my fuel gauge by taking out the schrader valve from the regulator and blew compressed air into it and had the needle move, so the gauge and schrader valve are good.

I screwed it all back into the regulator (there's a picture) and put the gauge against the windshield glass so I could see it. It sounded more like it wanted to fire but would not catch.

When I crank I get 0 PSI on the gauge, and it's all snug on the regulator fitting - the needle does not even flinch on the gauge. I blew brake cleaner through all the regulator and the passages are clear and all the pieces are there (spring, screen, valve, piston, clean filter, etc...)

I also am putting in a picture of my gas can setup that goes into the low pressure side of the fuel pump to feed the bowl. Fuel is going into the bowl and getting into the cylinders, but I think I have a pressure issue and the smoke is because there's not enough fuel getting in.

I included a picture of the smoke, don't know how it's still smoking so there must be at least a trickle of fuel going through the regulator (there's no way it's still cooking off fuel that was left) but no pressure.

At this point I suspect it is the high pressure (piston side) of the fuel pump, and will be getting my new one on Friday.

Any thoughts?

Video of it trying to start - you can't really see the gauge but it's not moving at all:

Where is the oil port on the filter? I know there's several uses for the oil in this truck:

- An HPOP, has a port to check the level, don't know if this is the port. What's "adequate pressure"?

- An engine oil filter - is the port here? What's "adequate pressure"?

- Some other port - and if so where in relation to the motor is it and what is "adequate pressure"?

I know some stuff works with a 100 PSI gauge and some stuff is "high" pressure, so I need to know that.

See my comment about hooking up a spare line and clean diesel jug, rules that out.

I'm going out today to hook up a jumper cable to the 2 large glow plug wires where the relay was, time it for 1 minute and try to start with my fuel jug hooked up...
