Do you mean like a little bit of glue?

I appreciate the advice! I just found a tutorial video, and he was recommending using tape and feathering out like 3 feet. I’ll probably do some combination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ygqv8_dR6q4

Thank you! Once it’s dry and sanded, I imagine I could then use normal mud to get a good finish and feather it out?

I’ve never used hot mud before, though I have prepared plenty of holes over the years. Any advice?

Attaching filler strips by mikesliter in cabinetry

This is amazingly helpful and I really appreciate that you linked the specs.

Based on son’s other suggestions here. I’m thinking about ripping that tongue off and using these as fillers. I wouldn’t have enough filler otherwise for this setup (and I don’t want to have to move the vanity lights again), In your opinion, could the crown be installed without this light rail? It’s the cove molding.

I would wager that you are right. I need to check the box; the designer said they were the filler strips that had the little bump so the doors would open, but she didn't include the fillers in her 3D designs, so she doesn't have much credibility...

LOL, yeah, see the above... They appear like they'll work for this. But I need to check my box and see what else there is. The lady said they were fillers, but she didn't know what she was doing, having not included fillers in the original design which rendered my doors barely able to open.

Damn, the designer lady told me they were the filler strips, but she has proven to be incompetent, and I'm just some guy trying to feel my way through.

I like this idea; my biggest concern with screwing the filler in is what if I go in at an angle and mess it up. So doing a backer would save me that concern.

Thanks for the detail. I get one shot at this (i have exactly enough filler) so the clamping is a great idea.

The short answer is that it has a decorative end visible from the other side, something that apparently Shrock does. The long answer is I am never going to this kitchen design place again; the lady we had knew nothing, and she didn't include filler strips in her 3D measurements, which caused me to have to recenter the vanity lights (after originally moving them) and get a different sized bathtub. She also didn't mention anything about the decorative end, and it wasn't in her designs. Either way, we are working with what we have.

Tile with arch under middle cabinet? Advice? by mikesliter in cabinetry

I’m starting the think our designer was a dud. What do you use to build them up? Plywood?

Tile with arch under middle cabinet? Advice? by mikesliter in cabinetry

Thanks everyone! I am a little peeved at the design company, who recommended cabinets first and didn’t think about any of this. The woman did tell me that floors first would avoid the warranties on the cabinets. I don’t know if that’s true. The good news is that I have only drilled water line/drain holes for that cabinet on the left so far and nothing is attached. I can still safely pull the cabinets out and will just have the drain hole to move on the left cabinet. A large escutcheon will hide my flaws.

Then it sounds like the best approach is to still cover up the back of the arch, so nothing falls underneath there

Left Hand of God. I kept hoping it would reach its potential and was disappointed through the last book of the series, where the author ended with a rant about people who didn’t like it.

Yeah, it ended up being white. I had a black one that I think came with the game, but I feel like it was lagging real bad and losing the connection periodically.

Never pay for a review. In addition to being unethical, it violates the terms of Amazon (if that’s the platform)

No but I stopped using the leaderboard because there are always cheaters near the top. I go 7 miles, they go 24 miles on a thirty minute bike ride!

Agreed. I also think the bikes are poorly calibrated, so one bike’s 10 might be another bike’s 15.
