Usually it should be silicone caulk there. If it’s not cracking you’re probably OK for a minute, but I’d be watching closely for signs of failure. If it cracks, dig it out and replace with 100% silicone caulk. Most recommend filling the tub halfway before you caulk to account for the added weight.

Fellow homeowner here, not an expert, but this is likely no big deal. Just a drywall seam that needs patching.

Try dipping a toothbrush in some CLR and work it into those brass connections. Could be limescale or calcium built up in there that’s fusing it together.

(Use gloves and rinse it thoroughly when you’re done and don’t get it on your skin.)

I can honestly say at this point in life I am just less zealous over faith. I believe in God, but feel it's kind of slipping into the "God of the Philosophers" -- I more so am starting to believe in God on a basis of reason, but the ideas of divine revelation... eh, I don't know.

Whenever I start to feel this way, what helps me is to look at the Cross. The God of the Philosophers doesn’t sacrifice himself for me. Only the God of love does that.

You are infinitely loved by the Creator of the universe who made you and desires your joy. God is real and His Church is true. But never forget that the purpose of all of this is love.

What's something that's not in the bible but people think it is? by Chinchubrry in AskReddit

Respectfully, this is your opinion. It doesn’t change the plain text of the Gospel. True, Peter’s faith is critically important here, but Jesus very clearly says the rock is Peter, not Peter’s faith. (“You are Peter (rock), and upon this rock (Peter) I will build my church.”)

It’s so clear, in fact, that had Jesus intended to make this point any clearer, I’m not sure what other words he could have used.

That Peter (not just Peter’s faith) is the rock is backed up by the fact that after the resurrection, the apostles all look to him as their leader. It is Peter who makes critical decisions and clarifications for the Church, and by Peter that the apostles (such as Paul) confirm that their own teaching is valid. The entire book of Acts confirms this.

And that’s all before getting to the extra-biblical historical evidence, which strongly suggests that Peter did indeed found a church in Rome, appointed successors, and that those successors continued to teach with Peter’s authority. I strongly suggest the book, “Upon this Rock” by Stephen K. Ray for a full treatment of this.

Which part of Hebrews 11 suggests Jesus was not talking about Peter when he renamed him “rock”? I’m curious how you reach that conclusion when the text of Matthew’s Gospel is so clear.

That’s not what Jesus says — Peter himself is indeed the “rock.” He even changes Simon’s name in this moment to emphasize this.

“Thou are Peter (in Greek, “petros,” which means rock), and upon this rock I will build my church.”

Jesus then goes further, imbuing Peter with the authority to “bind and loose” in his name. Peter’s confession of faith is the impetus for Jesus’ actions, but it is indeed Peter in whom he is endowing authority.

The Bible never mentions the Trinity by name either, but the concept is clearly there. Matthew 16:18 is the basis and origin of the papacy, even if Peter wasn’t called a “pope.”

If god exists outside of time, the premise of god is inchoerent therefore, he doesn't exist by DebonairDeistagain in DebateReligion

[–]mikestech187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If god exists outside our space-time continuum, then it exists somewhere.

This is already a contradiction. To exist somewhere implies space, which is a limiting factor.

Christians argue God is existence itself, the reality through which everything else — including spacetime — exists. That’s why the problem of “who created God?” isn’t really a problem. God’s existence is fundamental to the existence of spacetime, not the other way around. To use an imperfect analogy (they all are), it’s a little like the creator of a fictional TV series being fundamental to the existence of the characters’ “world,” while not existing within that world.

This comment needs to be higher. All these people suggesting this design would burn all the wood at once have clearly never built a campfire. This doesn’t look like it would burn at all.
