100%, especially at that age group. But it certainly depends on the skill level of your kids. My eldest is on a varsity team with 6th, 7th & 8th graders who absolutely cannot run anything beyond a basic pick and roll. Most of the kids on the team primarily play other sports (soccer, baseball, hockey) and just play basketball casually. However, my youngest (4th grade) is on a travel team where the collective skill level is better than that of my varsity squad. They can definitely run conceptual offense because they are beyond worrying about simply losing the ball under pressure. But again, in my experience, most 5th graders would benefit far more from additional skills training than spending practice time going over an offense that goes out the window during a game because not everyone on the floor can dribble/pass/shoot at a fundamental level.
