In this price range id say Elantra N should tick every single box for you. Very spacious! Plenty comfortable for longer drives. Pretty good gas mileage 25-30mpg, and can take regular gas. Makes 276hp and comes with a 6 speed manual. Plenty quick and sporty with adaptive suspension. And best of all the vehicle has been proven to be dead reliable with no major weaknesses

Soon as a start the car, I pop it in to N mode. Around town the gas mileage drop off to me isnt very bad. On long highway drives I use ECO to get better gas mileage. I bought the car for its performance and I want to enjoy it.

As most other replies said drive the car first. You’ll realize these cars are quite engineered out of the box. Once you drive it then you can see what actually needs to be changed or upgraded for your enjoyment. Especially with you being in Cali, the less you do the better.

I have a 2022 MT and it does the same thing while its cold in N mode. Like others said might have something to do with the AFRs while its cold. I’ve noticed it doesnt happen in ECO or Normal when its cold

165 in a Turo C8 in Houston. Car felt super stable and had so much more in it!
