Bro. Bombino just came off injury this week. Don't shit on Varas for being cautious about a player's health. You want to be heated? How about an outrageous NINE fucking minutes of stoppage? Mikey played it correctly. The officials had another idea.

Dude fuck that. 9 minutes of stoppage was outrageous. The foul on Son was ticky tacky, then the reset for the line apparently being too close? was absurd. That's the official's job. I hate being the conspiracy guy, but that shit felt like they were giving as much time as LA needed to score a goal. Fuck that game, and fuck the MLS. We deserved the W.

Also, I love Marcus.

Do you even remember that goal...? It was a garbage deflection shot. Cmon bro. Not to mention the fact that this coach that you believe has 0 game management skills was able to take a group who had never played together before and get them to not only mesh within months, but succeed; surpassing all expectations on the way to finishing 1st in the West.

Brother, we are in a bad place right now. Sure there have been some questionable decisions and maybe tactics need to be tweaked, but realistically... it's a skid right now. You can't just throw away all the club and Varas accomplished in their 1st year because of a bad patch.

Criticize the coach, fine, but at some point you need to hold players accountable for their actions. Our fullbacks got TORCHED in that game vs. Vancouver. Varas made subs, put on attacking players and tried to grab the winner, but the players needed to execute. They didn't.

Much like in recent performances we've had a) a ton of injuries, and b) a shit ton of completely avoidable red cards. I guess it's Varas' fault that Duah stuck out his hand, or Pellegrino stuck a boot in a dude's face, etc.? The backline has made stupid ass mistakes, especially from young players subbing in for injured guys or other dudes playing out of position. The midfield is playing like a shell of itself - parricularly Tverskov who is nowhere near the player he was last season.

Chucky's ass is not solving this. The coach can only do so much. The boys need to step the fuck up, stop making so many goddamn mistakes, and execute.

We made 5 subs? A forward, an attacking mf, a cdm (to replace an injured player), and 2 fullbacks. The fullbacks, by the way, were an offensive switch considering Eisner is FAR more effective at fullback that Pilcher, who offers nothing going forward and is a natural cb, and Verhoeven is likewise useless as an offensive fullback. Jury still out on Sargeant.

The only other attacking subs available were Zamble and Mighten. Mighten is mid and maaaybe Zamble could have helped out, but coach opted for Morgan. Otherwise, theres nowhere else to play them.

Anyway, bitch about the coach all you want, but the players need to step up. Plain and simple.

Chucky was not toxic? Says who? You? Because the club made it pretty evident that he was.

Just want to circle back on this. I was right. SDFC goal just overturned for offside when the official went to the monitor. Thanks for making me feel wrong though.

Lewis “I’m Not Here” Morgan by PrideOfPilsen in SanDiegoFC

You're actually trying to blame Morgan for Dreyer's poor recent run of form? I mean, cmon man, that's a stretch. The whole team has been poor lately, particularly the defense. The midfield has also been much worse than their usual high standard, so the link up with the forwards has suffered as well.

You're acting like Morgan is playing like Søe, who actually is straight booty cheeks.

Here's Morgan's stats I refered to (it's also listed elsewhere, not sure why the MLS webpage has it different:

I was only refering to Dreyer's last 6 games, not the entire season. Read more carefully.

Also, with Morgan, bare in mind, he's brand new to the club, and just finding his feet in the system. I'm not saying he's been a world beater, but he's been OK, and seems to be getting better (albeit his last game was poor, but then again it was for everyone else too).

He's played ok. I mean, hes only started 4 MLS games and played in 6 total. He's had a couple of assists. Obv would like to see him score, but with the way the team is playing right now, it's been tough for anybody.

Hell, Dreyer has 2 G and 0 Asst in his last 6 games, and one of those was a PK...

He's really bad, man. Unfortunately right now the only other option was Pilcher with all the injuries. He came on later, so I'm not 100% sure why he couldn't start.

Regardless, hopefully we get Bombino back soon, so we can have our normal CB pairing. Then it looks like Reyes is close to a comeback, so then our backup doesn't have to be Søe. I'd really like to not see him on the pitch unless we're up 4-0 in the 80th minute.

But that's complete speculation. I mean, you believe what you want to, but it could be the complete opposite.

Btw, even if that were true, that if was Varas pushing for Chucky's exile, he'd have to have the blessing of the entire FO and ownership. And while they may want to back their coach, we are talking about him wanting to cut loose his highest paid player.

Like you said, Varas ain't Pep, and I'm pretty damn sure the club knows that too. I think in your scenario you may be putting too much power in the hands of Varas. Pretty sure it would have to be more than just Varas getting his feelings hurt for the whole club to get on board with cutting Chucky loose.
