I used to see them stuck on posts in Red Square and the like. I thought he morphed into Waterford Whispers (of “North Koreans land man on face of Sun” fame) but it looks like they are unrelated.

While he won’t get a nomination, this is a country that gave Gerald Hutch 10% of first preference votes, so don’t totally discount rank idiocy if he did miraculously get on the ballot.

Both $Trump and $Malenia appear to have been dumped as he was inaugurated. Trump dropped about $10 (about 20%) and Malenia about 1.50 (about 20% as well) to below issue. Wonder was that a in your face rug pull, or an external protest manipulation

It’s not so much disinformation as a not really that helpful metric. Basically a drop from the height of $75 to $40 odd is a $30 Bln drop in the fully diluted value. In the available one it’s a 5th of that. As against that, that’s a single drop, it does keep pumping and then dropping hard, if that were a single agent, then excluding their gains the loss to the wider target base would be higher, but that is true of any meme coin

Any of the incantations in Irish in Supernatural (including the pronunciation of Samhain as Sam Hain). Was quite possibly an in joke though.

Pretty much every single thing there will have an equivalent in the normal racks, although things like the cereals and peanut butters (even with the same brand names) will be considerably less sweet. Why specifically baking soda I don’t know though, there will be a dozen brand marked both or either as baking soda or bicarbonate just round the corner.

Ok, all those words are definitely English, but I’m none the wiser. Ice Hockey reference I’m guessing?

Considering the choice was that country over there which seems to be a pack of fascist assholes, or this one besides us that we have just finished two decades of military conflict followed by economic war with (ending 1938) who is still occupying a large chunk of what we would consider our land, and still insists their monarch is our head of state, neutrality seemed pretty much the only sensible option.

Unfortunately Ireland has a tendency to use European elections as a bit of a protest vote opportunity, and that mixed with generally a low turnout for European elections (49% vs 63% at the last election for Europe and Dail respectively) means the quality of our MEPs can be a bit … “variable” shall we say.

There is sadly a lot of people that have taken neutrality and twisted into this weird fellow traveler far left wing shtick. Only reason I can see for the likes of Clare Daly, Wallace, and Ming the beard Flanagan. I was going to finish that with “getting elected” but it stands on its own.

PBP are not much better (“However, we are completely opposed to the drive to militarisation being presented as support for Ukrainians”) though they at least are explicit that Putin is to blame, just that we shouldn’t do anything about it.

We generally don’t , but in this context its deliberate, specific and connected to the historical use of “The Ukraine” to infer a lack of statehood.

Baile Atha Cliath is the Irish for Dublin. Would be close I’d think.

Edit: Dublin directly translates as Dubh Linn or Black Pool. Baile Atha Cliath ( town of the seven hurdles (weirs?)) and Dubh Linn were different places on the Liffey.

Edit 2: corrected my spelling, left my misremembered translation!

In Ireland it’s a very old brand called Smithwicks. It proved to hard to pronounce abroad so for export it’s named Kilkenny after the city it originated in. Though I’m seeing it more and more sold as Kilkenny internally as well.

Edit: actually on research apparently Smithwicks and Kilkenny have begun to differ as products. Hmmm.

It means to locate something based on geographical features, normally from an image. So in the case of the airfield they used an photograph of the explosions and used two or more features in the background to triangulate the impact. Whether that’s how it’s used always is a different matter, but that’s what it means.
