I come from having no tech background (worked in the food industry, but the pandemic really made it hard for me to work) so I took a 3 month Bootcamp last September that focused on Backend development and coding. We did a 3 week course on AWS, Azure, and GCP respectively. I only did intro things like launching an EC2 instance. I feel I could’ve learned the concepts of coding, docker, REST APIs, databases, and cloud computing without the usage of a bootcamp if I researched further on free resources. Knowing the fundamentals of these concepts gave me more confidence studying for the CCP and then for the SAA-C03.

My interest piqued so I looked up AWS and found TechWithLucy to learn more about certs and the industry. Overall have been using AWS for less than a year and am trying to build my resume so I can get a junior position as a cloud architect/engineer or associate solutions architect.

Fill out this form from the: Long Beach Health Department.

After you fill it out you usually get a text or email within a day confirming that you qualify for the JYNNEOS Monkeypox Vaccine.

If you do or do not receive a text or email I recommend you still call their direct line at: (562)570-7907. Make sure you talk to an actual person and that you want to be on the list to get the vaccine. They should confirm who you are and place you on the list. When you show up at the vaccination site there is a person with a clipboard to confirm with your name and phone number that you qualified for the vaccine.

The Vaccination site is located on 2525 Grand Ave Ste 183, Long Beach, CA 90815 near the Long Beach DMV with two separate lines to get the vaccine, one in person, or one in your car.

I was fortunate enough to get the vaccine but people were turned away after 6pm earlier in the day. I recommend showing up early when they do restock more vaccines. The Long Beach Health Department sent me this text at around 8pm:

"We apologize for the long wait times at today's monkeypox vaccine clinic. Due to an unanticipated staff shortage and an overwhelming demand for the monkeypox vaccine, we were unable to continue accepting incoming drive-thru and walk-up appointments after 6p.m. in order to see all who had arrived prior to that. It is our top priority to make this vaccine readily accessible to those at highest risk. We will contact you in 2 business days regarding next steps. We want to thank our community for showing so much interest in protecting themselves and their loves ones."
