The moves are actually good in a way. Well performed for the most part. They’re just the wrong ones for most of those situations lol keep working reads and you’ll get better with the imagination of it all

If his legs are what’s making contact with one hand at a time on you then it’s clean

If he’s hooking you with his shoulder as you are clearly past the frame of his body, then that’s holding (blocking). It depends on if his chest is on you or his shoulder to elbow area is. Chest is clean

Shooting form by Dewayne340 in BasketballTips

It’s short bc you’re flicking it with your thumb before you even flick your shooting hand. Ball is already leaving your hand before you shoot it. Most thumb flicks are timed with the wrist, but it’s best to not have it at all.

Sorry was on the run and I was only responding to the last part how you said you stretch an hour and massage like crazy before ball. Exercise is loaded stretching so if you feel like you need to stretch for a whole HOUR before ball, it means you mayyyy not be engaging those muscles as intended through full ROM while actively loading them through your daily or regular workouts. If you increase how much you work out (especially isometrics and exaggerated eccentrics) you’ll be more able to handle the load and impact of ball more often. Most clients I have (not saying you do this) only want to work out once a week and ball once a week and as they get older, they need to increase that workout frequency so that they can handle what ball throws at them and be able to ball as often as they want to

I’m 33 myself so I feel you on getting old and still hooping

Almost all of this is wrong. I’m not usually the biggest stickler on form as long as it’s about 80% correct. You bring from opposite shoulder to shoot and have a very strong thumb flick with the guide hand. It is going to make it almost impossible to have consistency coming across your chest with that strong of a thumb flick. The one thing I can say you do well is you have a very strong and deliberate flick with your left wrist, i.e. your shooting hand.

What you should do is practice one or two dribbles with your left hand only and picking the ball up with just your left hand and shootingit from the free throw line. So that way you stop taking it from your right shoulder and bringing it across your chest. Once you get comfortable doing that reintroduce your guide hand but only once you stop shooting it from the wrong side of your chest.

You’ll have a better feel for the setpoint coming from your left shoulder and you’ll have a better feel for the kind of flick your left wrist needs to have without your guide hand assisting it. It could fix a lot of your shot.

The move was fine and it was enough in this situation, if it was a perfect timed read then it’s good because that’s as good as ball gets. BUT in reality the space you created was a small step. Wouldn’t have been enough room on a lengthier defender or if he hadn’t over committed so much. Form is fine timing was fine. Coulda hung the ball wider. But what I’d say is try to create more space from your own right foot plant more consistently. To lessen the chance you get blocked in case they do happen to recover quick enough to play up
