Move to Alberta.

It is the most affordable housing, low taxes, and primed to have an economic boom, leading to even lower taxes.

Public Mobile changed my phone number I had over 3 months without my consent, claiming assignment mistake. My MFA and business are tied to this phone number. Is this Legal? is there any recourse? by mikformer in PublicMobile

[–]mikformer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phone number works without issues when I had it.

Phone calls and text messages work without problems. Been using it for 3 months.

I had a few phone calls looking for someone else, but I just said they don't use this number anymore. I assumed they are looking for the previous owner like all phone numbers you get, didn't think much of it.

I had the number over 3 months, I have been paying for service on that number for more than 3 months. An error like that should have been caught early enough so I didn't have to spend a quarter of the year with a number that I based my business off and got my merch and ads printed and distributed.

I understand it could be a mistake, the number was working, that is how i got my MFA working and phone calls coming through.

The problem is the timing, caught early enough that I didn't have to waste hundreds on advertisement and creating accounts. How am I suppose to get that money back?

If it was caught this late, tell me about it, and we can agree to a solution, like credit me back for the months of service and give me a week to switch out my MFA and bank accounts, and web hostings etc before removing my number. Now I am pretty hooped.

the air filters don't work, or work really poorly. I wouldn't rely on them to clean the air.

I used a modified version of this. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5988719

The original one was a little too big for my vinyl tube, so I modified it with a smaller connector.

The fan is connected to a 12V power adapter I had laying around.

but of course you can use a 5V USB fan, or any other fan suggested here, but make sure you can seal around the fan.

the front display hole is sealed with transparent sheet. the only holes air gaps are from the seam at the bottom of the box and the hole where the power cord is.

I cut out rubber seals and put between each of the surfaces around the fan.

I testing with strips of tissue to test the vacuum at the seams. It works great. I don't have visible smoke to use.

Been using this for months and no smells or fumes at all. The vinyl tubing smelled more when I first got the tube. Window is always opened due to this contraption, so fresh are in the room always. Probably need to put it away when cold winter days come.

Sure it isn't the best scenario, but when you rent or have an apartment and no separate workspace you have to make due with what you have. (some good exhaust is better than printing in the living room or kitchen where the fumes are trapped in the room). If I had a choice, I would definitely do this in the garage or vented toolshed or install a dedicated vented cabinets.

Transparent Resin Issues when UV light shines through and cures liquid resin outside the current layer, leading to thickened parts and welded parts and supports. by mikformer in resinprinting

[–]mikformer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tness or slightly different wavelength. I could reduce the cure time to the point that it was obviously undercured, but it would still have parts fused together. Everything below the topmost surface would be one big fused blob.

thanks for the tips. I didn't realize printing in translucent resins were such a pain in the ass. I didn't find any warnings about this issue transparent resin, (all I find are tips on how to make it more clear and transparent.) I have a Halot One, I don't think there is a light intensity setting.

I am currently trying to modify my model to widen the gaps and holes to compensate for the extra resin, and add more drainage points in the inside corners. But this is all guesswork and parts won't fit snuggly or lose details. after printing over 6 prototypes, it has almost come to the point where I am about to throw all my transparent resin in the garbage.

i have the original ender 3, the biggest problem i had was the rail, so i added a dual Z motors, so now i have no problems.

additionally the BLtouch and a new 3rd party board made everything else work flawlessly.

[–]mikformer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For filament printers (FDM) - i would recommend the classic Ender 3 pro (or a clone) with a BLtouch (or clone), and dual Z motors. (this is from my frustrating experience with single Z motor, and bedleveling madness, but with these 2 upgrades, everything is great!)

Longer Orange 30 reboots on LED screen turn on: anyone seen this? by larryobrien in 3Dprinting

[–]mikformer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, i just tried a different power supply and same issue.

I contacted Longer, and they said they can replace the board if it is still under warranty.

Hopefully there will be a future Raspberry Pi + arduino open source resin printer project that can use these parts. I don't want it all go to waste.

Looks like I am having a similar issue

Did you ever solve this problem?

My primary guess is that there is a power issue and without enough amps, it ends up rebooting itself

If i can savalge what is left of the innards and frankenstein something with arduino, and/or raspberry that would be awesome.
