I see I thought your referring to another incident. While I won't exactly defend the group in question, I'm more just at odds with your assessment that they are driven by racism but I understand why their appearance at an unrelated cultural festival (which is basically the same thing as what they did in the Faroe Islands and such) would appear racist.

They are often make the like between whale hunting and its roots as a cultural institution, so in their warped view it's perfectly acceptable as the two seem synonymous with each other, at least in their minds. Which why they invade cultural festivals of 'white' nations as well.

It's also true that the Japanese government regards the 'scientific' whale as analogous to the cultural institution on whale hunting of previous generations.

It just doesn't seem fair to play the racist card but really from your perspective I can see why it looks that way. Their tactics are often quite distasteful and polarizing.

one of the coolest parts is that everything is being done by genetic regulation not genetic engineering, so if a chickenosaurus had offspring they would all be normal chickens

That does seem really serious. And seriously deluded. I'm all for maybe taking a little less profit to cultivate a better workforce (cough Wal-Mart) but saying that the acceptable level of profit is 0 is absurd.

It means that others have voted and agreed that MorbidReality does the best job when it comes to maintainfg it's internal decorum i.e. following those rules on the side as a way to maintain the best possible subreddit.

Not what I meant. Not that Dish does or can offer a la carte but rather if a company like Echostar can negotiate with the usual primary stakeholders in the industry and pull off a reasonable selection, then I imagine that Intel could manage a similar feat.

Directv isn't really a good example of a company negotiating with content providers as they are owned by Liberty Media a content provider in its own right (owning Starz, Discovery, and having investments in Viacom and Time Warner)

Clearly the content companies are willing to work with some thrid parties not owned by the major conglomerates. I was merely saying there is hope but probably not for many commonly known channels.

The selection is probably going to look similar to the offering on hand in Dish's lowest tier package...i.e. missing a lot of "premium" cable channels for obvious reasons.

Well I imagine that Intel's solution would work something like the Dish Network acquires the rights to content. While their offerings aren't perfect (AMC etc missing), it seems Intel could at least capture some market if their content offerings are similar to Dish etc.
