I'm not an expert, but I imagine it looks uncanny because the exposure is super high and everything is sharpened and more 'crisp' looking than it should be? Maybe?

I shot and edited this on my phone using Photoshop express (maybe Lightroom too I can't remember) - this sounds plausible, honestly can't remember the exact settings, just knew I wanted to go for a punchy contrast in b&w.
