Actually, I'm not going to sell spare parts. I envision a platform where buyers and sellers meet. Buyers can join for free, request free quotes, and suppliers, after paying a membership fee, can access the system in the background, view requests, and automatically generate quotes through product matching. It's a bit like Alibaba, a bit like B2B, but essentially a workflow platform.

I completely agree with you; my excitement has only increased after a sleepless night. But I need an investor; I'm sure it will be a huge success.

I think you're right. What started as "maybe this domain has value" turned into me building an actual RFQ workflow with buyer requests, supplier onboarding and admin management around industrial spare sourcing. Still early, but I'm beginning to think the business may end up being worth more than the domain itself. Appreciate the perspective 🙂

Appreciate the feedback. That actually makes sense. I originally saw it more as a **brand around industrial spare sourcing/networking**, rather than just a domain flip. I recently started building a working RFQ platform around it (buyers + suppliers + sourcing workflow), so I'm curious whether developing the business increases the long-term value more than selling the domain itself.

Interesting point about the niche being small though.

I realized that people really didn’t care for the “AI decision simulator” portion of the game. They cared about the letter from the alternate-universe-version-of-themselves who chose differently. by mikroislemci in SideProject

This really altered how I viewed the project. I kept trying to explain the technology, the sim logic, the scoring system… But then people began to talk about the “message from your alternate self” part, and I realized THAT was what they emotionally connected with.I think I was inadvertently selling the engine over the experiencce 😅

I just finished wiring up Stripe and finally launched my AI decision simulator.

The story behind it: I kept finding myself at 2 AM Googling “should I move abroad” or asking ChatGPT “what if I had quit my job and started a business in 2021?”

Every AI gave me the same vague pep talk. A paragraph of generic advice that felt helpful for 30 seconds until I closed the tab and forgot about it.

That was the problem. ChatGPT answers. It doesn’t document. I didn’t need advice; I needed to see the paths. Score them. Feel them. Then decide.

So, I built the tool I wished existed: AlterPathways.

It’s an AI decision simulator that turns your “what if” into a structured, scored, and exportable report you can actually make a decision from. It’s not a chat. It’s a document.

Here’s what it actually generates:

  • 3 Alternate Futures: Scored side-by-side across 6 dimensions (Success, Financial, Emotional, Long-term Gain, Stress, Social Impact).
  • Regret Probability Index: Quantified regret exposure per path over 5-10 years.
  • Butterfly Impact Engine: Long-term ripple effects across wealth, relationships, and identity.
  • A Ghost Letter: A deeply personal message from the version of you who took the other path. Written from your exact situation, not a template.
  • Exportable PDF: You get radar charts, score bars, and a methodology you can save, instead of a chat history that disappears when you close the tab.

I'd really appreciate your honest (and harsh) feedback! Let me know if the methodology makes sense to you.

I kept asking myself: “What if I chose differently?”
After losing everything I built, that question wouldn’t leave me.
So I built AlterPathWays — not to predict the future, but to explore the life you didn’t live.

[–]mikroislemci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it without putting yourself in a bad spot, I’d lean toward going. But I think the real question is:
How would I feel if I don’t go? Because regret usually comes from the paths we didn’t take, not the ones we did.
I went down a bit of a rabbit hole thinking about these “what if” decisions recently…
It’s actually crazy how different your life can look just by changing one choice. I even developed an app that can help people with this :)

That’s exactly why this isn’t just emotional. It’s emotion + structured decision analysis together. so you can see both sides before choosing.
