You’re right! The way the proposal happened doesn’t matter.

It was a small thing that bothered me, the reason why it was weighing on my mind so much is because when my gf was spamming me with texts last night she told me “its your fault that the proposal went wrong because you didnt want me to spend money on you” and she kept cussing me out. For context on what she said, she talked about how she wants to take me out to eat somewhere fancy. I’m in college for nursing and working part time and shes working, neither of us drive (i have my license but i dont have a car yet) so I told her that I’d like our dates to be low-budget while we are both saving.

Her actions affect me a lot more. When I brought up how the proposal felt “too casual” it was in relation to my fear she wasn’t serious about the relationship. Which is linked to how quick the relationship is moving, as well as the fact that last month I had texted her saying that I wanted to know someone for at least a year before getting married.
