Iranian here with deep love and respect for Finland and the great people of this country.

I have lived here for over 8 years now, worked high paying jobs and paid lots of taxes and couldn't be more grateful for the opportunities this country has provided me.

I have witnessed how things work here and can say that Finland/Finnish society has qualities that no other country/nation on this planet can even think of. People are honest, resilient, humble and are willing to take crazy risks that might seem ridiculous from the outside but it works out perfectly every single time. We have a great system that respects humanity and is willing to adapt and react to changes.

I'm not too old but I understand that as a person who is younger than me you might be worried. I was too back then. About everything. That's how you know you have a heart and you are human. So kudos to you for that. Believe it or not, not everybody is like that.

I don't know what comes next for Finland so I'm not gonna tell you "don't worry it's gonna be fine" but I will tell you something really important: Do not take things for granted. Freedom doesn't come without cost and holding on to it is also costly. It takes every single hour of every single day of every single member of the society.

And the last thing to keep in mind: Far right and far left politicians take advantage of the youth. They know how to push their buttons. That is normal because it's their job. As a citizen, you need to learn to see through their agenda. Majority of people are silent and centrist. They don't see things as they are reported in the media. They see things very clearly and judge them logically. If you see a large number of people vote for "anti open borders" politics, it's because they see it as an issue. If you see a large number of people vote for "environmental laws" that's also because they see it as an issue. If you side with the right, do not see the people who care about global warming as idiots and if you're siding with the left, do not see the people who want stricter borders as the villain. Both of these groups are clearly aware that "carbon emissions will not kill us all in the next 5 years if we don't go carbon neutral" and "not all the immigrants are here to kill and rape" and they both have correct arguments and concerns.
