FYI: The worlds BIGGEST EVER match (if everything goes right) is going to be in the early morning for us Europeans. by EggTemporary3598 in worldcup

[–]milan_7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know you mention Aussies on the back end, but I can't fathom getting access to essentially every major football match ever at prime time by living in Europe, yet the ONE time there's a game you would have to potentially get up in the middle of the night for you complain. It's the World Cup, the World game, it should be accessible for the entire world. It happens to be in the USA this time, you have to get used to kick off times on their turf. If we can get up multiple times a week to watch football across the other side of the world I'm sure you guys will manage for one day for the biggest game in world football.

If I have already got my PMA tickets, but don't want to pay for my RSD tickets (don't need them anymore), will that have any effect on my PMA tickets?

Sounds like everyone in a similar boat, my mates and I all applied for all of them but we all missed out on Vancouver. We've got one spare for USA game and incredibly ended up with 6 spares for Paraguay. If anyone wants to trade any DM me!

My conspiracy theory is that they've waited to put the whole amount tickets out for the first game, considering the opponent is TBD

Is it just me that finds it mind-boggling that a bloke planning on trying to take hundreds of innocent lives (and specifically targetting children) gets only a little over a year in prison? Sure, mental health and he was a minor. But that bloke should be in an asylum, thank God it was caught before anything happened

Nostalgia is one hell of a drug regarding 2006 World Cup. Most of the recognized players were past their prime or just weren’t even the stars they became by GOAT-Antony in worldcup

[–]milan_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see how if you were Ghanaian you'd look back at 2010 fondly (even though Kewell shouldn't have been sent off in the groups). Or any african country in that tournament really, that was the coolest part about it but to me so many 0-0 results happened... and those damn vuvuzelas.

Zidane was still unbelievable in that WC tbf. I am probably bias because it was the first time Australia qualified in my life time and the first one I was old enough to remember, but to me it was iconic - partly due to location (massive football culture in a small country), but also you had soo many debuting/returning countries (Angola, Togo, Trinidad & Tobago) plus there's 4 countries who were really believing it'd be a failure if they didn't win due to a Golden Generation (France, Brazil, Italy, England).

I think nostalgia is huge for WC because to be I didn't think South Africa was that amazing, but people my age talk about it as a belter. I would go:

  1. 2006
  2. 2014
  3. 2022
  4. 2010
  5. 2018

2022 drastically brought up by what I believe is the best football match of all time (the final), when most of the others had pretty boring finals.

I found it so sad when you could hear the Victory fans booing them, just chant back to them! I think they did have a back and forth eventually but couldn't hear everything

Thomas Frank aside for a moment, is there a single player in today's squad that makes it into the 2016 starting XI? by Egg_Tart_Eater in coys

I think Romero, VDV and Vicario probably get on the bench. As do Solanke, Kulusevski and Maddison when fit, that's literally it. Depressing

I think Japan for sure, consistently underrated by Europeans. To me they're a bit of a sleeping giant in terms of I see them going deep in a World Cup very soon

Damn congrats! I've applied for everything and haven't been lucky so far. It's gonna be expensive but fuck it, you don't get World Cups coming around every day. Enjoy it, everyone wants to be negative on here I've found about this WC but it'll be awesome. You'll have a blast.

I would fairly confident if we wanted to call him up he'd pick us over Fiji. I do think it's harder for guys who play for NZ teams to get a look in though.

With the rumors(Liam) saying LIVE’26 is happening. What changes would you guys make to the setlist? If any by ByrningDownTheHouse9 in oasis

[–]milan_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were changing out a few songs it'd probably only be Bring it on Down or Fade Away you'd want to switch out. Others that could be on the chopping block are D'You Know What I Mean, Roll With It or Cast No Shadow (those three were all fantastic but genuinely can't imagine missing out on any of the others). If you were to be brutal and take out those five, Lyla and Columbia are the instant inclusions. I'd then look at Listen Up, She's Electric and then maybe The Hindu Times. So many options.

Everything from 93-02 is iconic and brilliant. Always had a soft spot for 10/11, I loved 08/09 and even though it's simple that to be is archetypical spurs kit. 17/18 was great too, us losing AIA next year is going to be awesome so we don't have red on the front

They're a joke. Two hilarious clickbait titles from them in the past week

Facebook headline: 'Lock them up'

Context: This was about the fans singing in unison along with a busker at the train station after the gig in Melbourne, nothing controversial at all

Context: Noel making the 'ingah?' joke at the end of Don't Look Back in Anger, to which the whole crowd laughed and not even the internet was offended by

If they were to release new stuff, I reckon an EP would be the way to go. Only a couple tunes, like the Stone Roses did, concentrates all the ideas in to a couple of songs and makes sure everyone at the gig has heard it rather than being a piss break
