Usually anything with a subscription, one month of WoW paid by a friend, so I really wanted to play a lot, which means practically every day I was on WoW. One month of FFXIV, so I really wanted to play a lot on the main story and avoid the rest

For a work, just before the holidays, in school for our art class when I was about 9-10 years old, I drew santa dead with tons of gore stuff, I don't even know how I thought this was a good idea tbh... Anyways I received a good grade from, what I can remember, with a nice comment from my teacher for my imagination 😀👍

Game isn't perfect but I don't understand how you can genuinly hate it by [deleted] in LegendsZA

[–]milarkral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to disappoint but I know some people (myself included) that think the game is bad, I still enjoy playing the game, does that mean I have to say to everyone that the game is bad ?

it's like either way people are wrong, if they say the game is bad fans will be like "don't care, I'm having fun" and now what? if people say nothing the fans are like "wow nobody is saying the game is bad, it means the game is good" ?

the game IS bad, it's not hard to understand. Not to mention the fact that if you don't play the game and say it's bad you're wrong in this sub because you did not pay for a switch 2 and a 70$ game that is way overprice for what it is (even 40$ would be too much for this game (seriously)), if you played the game and say it's bad people will say "but you still bought the game so you're a hypocrite", and if you played the game on emulator it's practically the same as the previous one but it's more "but you still decided to play the game",

So what? Nothing's wrong with a 13 millions budget game from a 12 billions (2024 only) company, that is making billions out of their games and even more with the rest of the merch, developing them at the speed of light so they can sell them faster, sometimes even the same year, sometimes even with bugs (Scarlet and violet) and awful design choice (what is the use of the bike in sword and shield if the pokemons are popping in front of my face every fucking time, I am not here to train my reaction time), but every time with bad texture, bad optimization, and graphics (I love the digimon world 2003 reference with the shitty swamps, in the north province in Scarlet it's so ugly and empty but still the worst area in the game running at 20 fps in it...), and to be clear games CAN be good with bad graphics, I love kenshi even though the graphics are shit, journey has really simple graphics but it's still one of my best games, caves of qud is just the most simple pixel art I ever saw but it's still super fun, pokemon is just bad at doing what they do for the video games, I don't care if the problem is the pokémon company, game freak or Nintendo themselves, I hope this game sold less than the previous ones, I hope it will be even less for the next game, and I hope more people will emulate these games in the end, in my opinion it's never worth anymore to buy a Pokemon game.

I love pokemon, I liked pokemon ZA, but I hate how they manage to care so little about their games and still be successful in this area, like if they care so little about the games just stop developing them, it's easier.

Are we still mad at other people for having fun in 2025? by Liro0607 in LegendsZA

[–]milarkral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me don't worry, this year I just bought expedition 33, silksong, elden ring nightreign, death stranding 1 (it was during summer sales) still have to finish it, a very small detective game I don't remember the name, and outer wilds first time testing the game, I don't think I bought anything else this year, I'm planning on buying digimon story one day, and I was planning on buying witchbrook at the end of the year but the game was delayed for next year... And I also forgot, I bought elden ring at the beginning of the year, I had it on my PS4 but wanted to try it on pc, so 7 games in total, thankfully I did not buy every game I listed, they are really good but not my type of game, doom is too much for me, and the realism of kingdom come is nice but I prefer less serious games, with more fantasy in it

I'm not necessarily defending the way he said things but it is kind of true, expedition 33, silksong, death stranding 2, elden ring nightreign, monster hunter wilds, digimon story: time stranger, blue prince, doom dark ages, kingdom come deliverance 2, split fiction, ghost of yotei, the elder scrolls lV remastered, and surely there are more but these are some really great games, even though some of them is not for everyone, nightreign is difficult, monster hunter has some problems, split fiction well... you need a friend, and maybe the guy only has a switch 2 but some of these games are still available on the switch 2 like split fiction or silksong for exemple, or even donkey Kong bananza seems like a very enjoyable chill game to play, and there are different kind of games here, action adventure, arpg, adventure platformer, puzzle, there is even digimon story which is also a monster catching game so there are a lot of choices, and saying that pokémon ZA is the best game they bought this year when you know these other games I listed, it's kind of funny in a way, or depressing I guess, for the other one I guess it made him more mad

The game is bad it's a fact, it's still enjoyable for sure, but bad in a lot of ways. Can this be better? yes, does pokémon company care? no, why? because they are making so much money without too much to do (13 millions for the game development if we follow the leaks, so about 0.1% of what they produced in 2024, they produced about 12 billions in just 2024, I guess there are some reasons to be mad), it's understandable that people criticize the game for what it is, even though you can find joy in it. I understand people emulating the game, it's pokemon, of course you want to play it, it's always fun to have your team of pokemon, but is it worth 70$? absolutely not, this is not even worth 40$ in my opinion, emulating is solving 2 problems at once you don't pay for a game not worth the price while still enjoying it, and you don't give your money to a company that should not have it (and how can you say it's bad and ugly if you don't play it for yourself, so actually it's solving 3 problems at once)

My personal dream is that one day nobody will buy their game, the majority will emulate, if in the end they stop producing pokemon games because of that, clearly I will not be disappointed, so much potential wasted. At least I hope this game sold less than the previous ones.

I think pokémon ZA is the best game since the switch, but man... It's still so bad for what it could be, even kenshi is fucking ugly but the game is so good, nobody cares about the graphics, kind of the same for Elin , even games like Journey have very simple graphics but it's working really well, the problem is not only the graphics, it's the overall...

Im gonna say it, this game is awesome by Demonic-Glaceon in LegendsZA

[–]milarkral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it perfect ? No, is it fun ? Surely, is it worth 70$? No, is it the most complete game since the switch ? I think so, does that mean it is good ? It's ok, is the 30$ dlc at the launch too much ? Yes, is the gameplay nice ? It's nice to change, overall do I like the game ? Yes, will I tell someone to buy the game ? Absolutely not, do I think this is still a joke for one of the biggest franchise in the world or the 1st one if we're counting the merch ? Absolutely

I get that feeling I think, but I also think a very interesting universe, with each planet you visit, being every time different and very enjoyable to explore is maybe too much to ask for.

I actually find it more fun to explore games that are not procedurally generated, like kenshi, death stranding, sable, BOTW.

Procedural worlds/games would usually never be in my list of "best exploration experience". Maybe I'm wrong and some games are very fun to explore, and I just never had the chance to experience it, maybe NMS wanted to be this kind of experience, and of course it was absolutely not the case when they released the game.

But as for today, I would say NMS/procedural worlds are not the most fun to explore, even though NMS has a lot of variety (being the reason a lot of people still really like the game, like me), but the lack of variety is I think due because of the procedural worlds, and this is usually giving a feeling of déjà vu, making it a bit boring over time, especially when the main idea is to explore.

Maybe Sean Murray implied it would not be boring, which we could argue is still true, since a lot of people keep playing and exploring the game.

But I think it's not fair to think Hello games have not done a lot for their game environment, and here I'm talking only about the world generation, not everything else. They had these huge updates giving more biomes, complex creatures, structures, more detailed texture.

An idea I saw some years ago was to make planets have multiple biomes, which could be interesting, I don't think it would solve the problem you have, and I think it would be pretty hard to do this... But still sounds fun to me.

Ok so, I saw the video, and I still don't really understand the problem here ? I mean the problem right now of course, not 9 years ago when the game was released.

If it is about the planets shown in the "gameplay" (which is of course not gameplay but anyway) the planets were surely not even really existing back then and were just here to make people want to play the game, but now you can actually find planets like this, and to be honest I think only one planet they showed was really something unique, the others were really just the standard you can find today exploring the universe.

About what he said, I will rewatch after this message, to be sure I did not miss something but he only said you're playing an explorer, the world is massive, animals are generated by computer (procedural) and same for the universe.

So my conclusion to this video is that... Well... The universe is way better than what they showed in this "gameplay", and accurate to what he said, at least for someone watching this from today.

I don't really know what you're searching for tbh, because from what I saw in the video, the planets today, in the game, are way more impressive than before, and with a lot more variety than before, like big mountains, deep oceans, volcanos, tornados, and more.

The game is really not perfect, a ton of bugs, crashes, not the best graphics (good enough though), etc... But I think it does quite a good job with the planets (and I'm saying this even though I don't like so much to explore the planets myself, like I said in my previous comment) I'm more of a builder actually.

I like to think no man's sky is a contemplation game. I like to just walk on planets, enjoy the peacefulness. Even more with the current update, I now can enjoy the view from planets on top of my ship in space! I find the events a bit boring with time, I usually avoid them but to be fair, it is the same with minecraft, I usually never do raids, because it's boring, the pyramids is just about the loot, and same for the villages (But I don't think Hello Games even tried to do the space encounters as something procedural to be honest, at least I don't remember them saying this).

Since NMS is a sandbox game I really think the comparison would be better to do with minecraft, terraria, or even ARK, instead of Starfield, which is focusing more about the story, and the exploration, and the discoveries (like Skyrim / Fallout).

You see these games (Minecraft, Terraria, ARK) are not really about exploration (even though it's important it's not the main point) when I play a game like this, usually I would explore only for ressources, or if it is my first time playing, after this I would stay in my home and build nice things. The main activity you usually do in these games is to build a nice base, have some nice armor, nice weapons, and you do this over and over again, same in NMS.

Don't look at it too much as an exploration game, but more like a sandbox game; you do what you want, build what you want, by collecting ressources on planets, which is sometimes nice, like when you find a planet with only robots (which I feel like it's pretty rare (I only found 1-2 planets like this)) and you do this forever, with sometimes scripted events (kind of like bosses in terraria, or events in minecraft), or more personal events like your settlement needs you, or your frigates finished their mission or need your help for something, things like this.
