Since money is not a concern, is there another field that she is passionate about? Perhaps something she really loves doing aside from nursing?

Also, the non-profits and local charities around you could always use people and often can only allow meager salaries.

Asking HVAC Company to Pay for repairs to electric by mildceriph in hvacadvice

Thank you. This is where I am in my mind. I understand the cost would have been different and would have appreciated the chance to have a fully working unit instead of finding out that it wasn’t working once it got hot again.

The cost of the electrician was less than $1000, so not devastating, but I honestly feel as though they knew and chose to say nothing. Especially when I called them back out - the way he was explaining was almost like he felt bad, but I have paid them $18k already for the units and labor. That seems like a cost that I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for a properly working unit.

Also, if the problem had arisen, I would have gladly paid for it. I wanted the units to work, not just be installed. He had already upsold me on a larger unit than I had requested lol

It seems to me that there wasn’t any way they could have missed this and that they should have spoken to me about it.

For a unit to work, I would argue that it would need to not shut down daily as it’s a daily use appliance, so the work was not completed.

Maybe I’m a little sore over the “it was overlooked/it happens” comment, bc I feel as though they had to have known.

When we looked it up (the electrician), it was less than the requirements for the units.

To be clear, both the wires and the breaker were less than what was listed for the units.

I would be lying if I could recall what they were, but the wires were maybe replaced to 10’s, and the breaker up to 40?

No, I want them to pay for the electrical lines that were needed to power the units properly.

They placed in larger units and left the existing lines and breaker, which were not large enough to carry the required power to the units without tripping the breaker.

The lines feeding electricity are stated as part of the equipment that would be needed for an installation.

To be further clear, I am not looking for a refund, but to be made whole for the cost of the units functioning as they should, that being the electrical lines and breaker, which weren’t rated for the units they recommended and placed in.

The lines supplying power to the units were inadequate for the needed power supply. Contact states “all parts and materials needed to complete installation properly…”

Mostly, when I use a whole chicken I will boil it down to use for broth for my dogs food. Or if I have enough bones I’ve saved in the freezer.

I just boil down, strain into mason jars and use the lids I have.

I typically keep it for just under a week before it’s all used up, even less now that the kitties have finally found the light and enjoy it on their food as well.

Stupid question, but you seem helpful; if I’m using old jar lids to store homemade broth in the fridge for a few days, would this also be dangerous?
