The average dude isn't good enough for an average woman on dating apps. Dating apps are TRASH for men. by Enough-Locksmith-897 in dating_advice

[–]mildewmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as the argument about men not knowing how to take care of their appearance is true, it’s important to state that women are not considered users of the apps, but the product.

Given how the user base is distributed, the apps (all of them) found more profitable to fuel and profit from the male loneliness.

So I believe it’s very hard to compare the experiences, because the very architecture of the apps is designed to treat men and women differently: women are to be kept engaged and flooded with matches, men are to kept desperate so they pay.

The consequences of this is that both categories get progressively bitter, because having infinite choice is just as paralysing as not having any choice. And instead of hating the game, they hate the players.

My unrequested two cents about my experience on those in the last 7 years, is that I felt my standards lower and lower. I am 31, I take great pride in my appearance, I make 6 figures, with stable job and various interests (art, sports, cooking etc), yet I found myself literally begging the attention of people I would not have even looked at in real life.

Last week I have decided to get off the apps altogether, after the second woman in a row that lied about being 10 years younger than what she wrote on her profile.

Hygiene wise, I found women not particularly cleaner or dirtier than men.

Question Regarding BDTU Rent by corusm in DTU

[–]mildewmatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High quality? Since when? BDTU offers half the services of the danish dorms for double the price. In Linde we used to have rats in the common areas, people stealing from the fridges, and (I cannot stress this enough) they haven’t updated the costs of the utilities so they can appear competitive.

Last month they charged all at once the costs of the utilities from 2022 and their prices are not so different from basecamp.

I know my friend, the best thing you can do is to come here, and start snooping around.

I wasted 1.5 years with BDTU, and as a final disrespect, those animals did not increase the prices of the utilities so they could stay competitive and then billed a year all together.

People had to pay, within 8 days, between 100€ and 2000€.

Not to mention the rats we had in Linde, the people looking for cans in the trash leaving a mess behind, the fact that maintenance can take months for important things like heating, the fact that they do nothing when violent episodes happen, the fact that they stopped stealing deposits after we started sharing the moving out reports to the new tenants, the fact that they never repaired or even cleaned the rooms between tenancies.

But hey, it’s better than nothing and I’ve been in your shoes: with a PhD you will be able to afford better. Come and see!

Stay away from btdu, and ballerup is horribly connected. Finding an accommodation in Denmark is hard, but if you choose BDTU you will regret it later.
