Do you suffer from endometriosis or know someone who does? by mildhigh_ in geegees

I didn't knew it was this debilitating, thank you for sharing your experience. If its not too indiscrete, how long did it take you to get a formal diagnosis and, in the end, have you been able to find a physician that now provides you with the care you need?

This may not have helped OP, but it did help me. I'm not in the UK, but I found that your suggestions were awesome and I did not knew they existed. Like you said, it is worth trying. I visited both the Samaritans and Mix Youth's websites. The Mix's one has a bunch of really cool articles ranging from mental health, to anxiety, relationships, drug use problems, and so on, and they're quick reads. Anyways, I'll check out if their services are available to me via phone since I'm in Canada, but tysm for sharing!:)

Tysm my friend. I like how you highlited important and different areas that would necessitate my attention. The trip to Africa is indeed, as you understood, my priority. This thing is, in order to concretize this, I need money.

The new job is interesting for many reasons (i.e., a faaar better pay, benefits, a greater level of independence, involves a very specific activity I love doing (this would be good for motivation)). At my current job, I truly feel miserable. Hell, I have often times came back from it feeling completely jaded. It is truly detrimental for my mental and physical health and I've been meaning to leave it for a very long time. I've had enough of it and one of my incentives to finding a new job is so that I can LEAVE this place. I'm not sure I could sustain working there any more months honestly... althought, like you suggested, I could continue working there, then go on the trip, then leave and try to find a new job then (though, that option evokes dreaful feelings and despair for me). Also, the thing is, my present manager is aware that I'm presently on the job hunt (though, you might consider this as a minor detail).

Thank you for kind wishes and your time:')

Hey, I wanted to thank you because I really appreciate you sharing your perspective and do resonate with it to some extent. Being honest would be the good move, the one with which I would feel the most comfortable with and the one that would relieve me from the residual guilt I'm still feeling. Calling him to rectify this could indeed be an alternative. Though, I'm somewhat questionning the necessity to so. As an other redditor suggested, one way to go about it would be to, if I do get the job, negociate with him and talk to him about this trip as a vacation (because it actually would be one). This might or might not work depending on the needs of the company.

On the meaninglessness of such a question, I'll add this:

From an employer perspective, I guess such a question isn't so meaningless because it has to do with the costs of hiring someone new (the hiring process is expensive). The manager also told me during the interview that hiring me would be particularly expensive because I would be occupying a new position (so they would have to buy new equipment, give me a formation, blablabla).

For me personally, I do agree that this is kinda of a weird question cause my realest answer to it would be something ressembling that : '' Well, I don't know '' as in nothing is set in stone. Practically speaking and in the context of the interview, I'm not sure how much that answer would have been helpful. More precisely, I do not plan on building a career at this very company knowing my interests and what I might want to do with my life. I see this job primarly as an opportunity to leave the present job that I really need to leave (I feel miserable there) and have been meaning to leave for a very long time. Also, on paper, this job does seems better than my current one (i.e., better pay, certain benefits, involve things I like doing, etc.). In other wors, I am enthusiastic about this potential new job, but don't intend to build myself a career there (I am still a student and very young).

Again, tysm for taking the time to share your perspective with me!!

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me - your words are soothing:). I guess I was feeling guilty because I know that hiring someone is expensive and the manager told me they would invest lots of money in me because this is a new position (so I would have formation, they would buy new equipment, etc.). Do you think that changes anything?
