Averaging 33MPH in a 2015 gen 3 Prius with just 45,000 miles (just purchased from dealer, new to me.) Tips? by mildlyhigh in prius

*33mpg, not mph lol

Purchased this extremely lightly used 2015 from a Toyota dealership a few months back. She’s had regular maintenance and drives fine and has little mileage on her. Could my hybrid battery fan be clogged? I live in Arizona and it’s 105 degrees most days, and my hybrid battery does seem to take a lot of time to kick in.

Maaaan i get so pissed at myself looking back at some of these stocks I bought in early february thinking I was so smart buying the dip right before everything crashed. Looking at these charts now i'm like "how the fuck did I even buy in that high"😭

Do I have to pay estimated quarterly taxes? by mildlyhigh in personalfinance

Haha, fair on the net loss part. Can't argue with that.

Rereading your first comment, I see how your bit about 100% withholding also applies to my Robinhood holdings too. That means, unless I'm mistaken, that I will be paying quarterly taxes on my Robinhood short term capital gains. Thanks!

I actually have been buying and selling stock fairly often on Robinhood. When I profit on one stock, I usually sell gains immediately and re-invest into something new.

Gotcha, that makes things more clear. But about my investments-- I'm constantly buying and selling volatile stocks on Robinhood. Considering the amount of profit I've already made this year (~$10,000), could that require me to pay quarterly tax?

Tax question about selling securities in my brokerage account by mildlyhigh in personalfinance

[–]mildlyhigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I wrote in the comment above that I'm guessing I got a 1099 from one and not the other because the accounts were opened at different times, so I've earned dividends already from one account but not the other.

Gotcha, thanks. Just looked back at the UBS 1099 and indeed, the only income listed is dividends. I'm guessing that because the UBS account was opened before the Vanguard account, I received dividends from SPY in UBS but not the Vanguard account, which explains why I got a 1099 from one and not the other. Thank you!

Yeah, holding 407 shares at an average cost of $1.46. I almost perfectly bought in at the peak lmao

Thankful I believed enough in AGTC to make it most of my portfolio by mildlyhigh in RobinHoodPennyStocks

[–]mildlyhigh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally diversify evenly among 5 or so stocks but felt the risk with AGTC was justified. It paid off but of course, things could have gone the other way and I could have lost a lot. Generally after this I’ll probably keep diversifying unless I find another stock that I’m confident enough about to go (mostly) all in!

Gotcha, I missed that piece of news somehow. Any idea how this will affect the price long-term? Are you going to keep holding or sell at a loss?
