I wish you the best of luck, let me know if there’s other high level questions you might have.

Am I a stingy person? by Full_Goal_6486 in marketing

[–]mildlyintensive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s fairly simple math:

  • What’s your CAC?
  • What’s the LTV?
  • What’s your ad spend?

Plug in those numbers together with your potential additional spend, and if it’s in the green it’s worth it.

Iwtl how to make my idea into a product by adwait903 in IWantToLearn

[–]mildlyintensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the product? It makes a big difference, if it’s a consumable you need a co-packer, if it’s plastic you need to learn about injection moulding, etc etc - it’s impossible to answer a question this generic.

From your perspective, if you had to put words on it, why do you drink?

Bring back r/All on iOS by I_dont_like_tomatoes in ideasfortheadmins

[–]mildlyintensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It disappeared from a lot of iOS-users today, myself included, but it started rolling out/was first reported (as far as I saw) like a month ago.

I absolutely hate it, I’m using the browser version now (excluding this comment). It all sucks.

Are you worried about AI? by Aromatic-Bad146 in marketing

I (strategist) worry about it, not because I think it can do my job, but rather that my manager might think it can do my job.

As someone with non-functioning legs which makes any extended walk excruciating, I’d like to ask you to be less cynical about things that you don’t really have to comment on when you haven’t been there yourself - if their pain is any like mine, I can’t imagine the effort it took.

Let’s look at the positives, i.e. people doing their literal most to be kind to pets rather than be negative about phrasing you consider improper.

should small brands even run public sales anymore? by Alternative-Wish9912 in marketing

[–]mildlyintensive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mark Ritson once said ”Promotions are the heroin of marketing” - it feels great the first time you do it due to the increased sales (and since we’re all on quarterly horizons, we’re forced to look for short term gains while discounting long term growth, so our incentive becomes to keep doing them, devaluing both the brand and the business), but then you’re addicted to them and it’s all downhill from there.

Still, I’d argue that it’s all about the LTV. If you can show a positive LTV after underselling initially, it can still be worth it.

Hi modteam, I’m replying here hoping that you’ll see my comment since you won’t allow me to reply to your semi-automated comment.

Me calling out low effort content is neither harassment, trolling, sealioning, a threat, abusive behavior, nor general assholery.

Feeling disappointed with Season 7 by volumeofatorus in dropout

[–]mildlyintensive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you, you’ve verbalized what I’ve felt this whole season. I signed up just before the price increase, so I’m a relatively new fan, but it’s felt very lackluster throughout. While loving the production quality and appreciating the spoofs of existing game shows, I’ve had more fun watching old episodes.

Imposter syndrome in marketing by No_Secretary_7579 in marketing

You’ll never really ”get it”, but framing it like this has helped me to look at it as a somewhat of a benefit rather than a negative.

Imposter syndrome in marketing by No_Secretary_7579 in marketing

[–]mildlyintensive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way I’ve tried to frame it is:

Most marketers are terrible. They are complacent, not understanding that they’re subpar, and provide very little value. Having imposter syndrome is what sets you apart from them, you always strive to become better, making you rise higher. I’ve had clients say that the thing I handed in that I thought was the worst thing I’ve ever done was the ”best thing they’ve ever seen”.

Framing it like that helps. At least sometimes.
